"I had an appointment 11-01 at 615p. As we got closer to the date I started having cluster migraines during which I lose my vision and cannot function. I had one 10-31and another the morning of 11-01. I was going to push through and keep my appointment. At 417p I got my third migraine and realized I would not be able to drive to my appointment from work. I immediately called the office to advise them. I was told I would most likely be charged for the cancellation. A couple days later I received a bill for $65 and I called and left a message. Sharon called. She reinforced that they were unable to fill my cancellation that close to the appointment which I understand but there was literally nothing I could do and I was physically unable to attend my appointment. As a courtesy she waived the cancellation fee. A couple weeks later over a weekend I noticed an appointment card in my wallet for the boys for November. I was in a hurry and the date of the appointment didn't register. I couldn't remember if it was 11-22-22 or 11-xx-22. I thought it odd I hadn't received any reminders and was worried about missing their appointment. The following Monday I called to inquire. I was told they were in Novi that day and since I go to the Livonia location, I clearly didn't have an appointment that day. I explained I wasn't trying to get or have an appointment that day but I knew they had an appointment scheduled because I made it when we were there 6 months before. I was then advised my boys didn't have any appointments on the book at all. I explained I know that isn't right as I made it when we were there last, and I know I have an appointment card. I asked if she could hold a minute while I grabbed the card and she sighed and told me "I would have to be quick as she is the only one there and I don't have time for this". I explained how unhappy I have been with the way I have been treated the last couple times I had to contact their office. At that point she told me "Perhaps you should go elsewhere then". We ended the call and I immediately grabbed the appointment card from my purse which was actually 11-15-22. I texted a pic to their office explaining how disappointed I was with the way they have been treating me. A short while later I received a call from Sharon stating Crystal had explained to her what happened. The office stopped taking one of my boys' insurances earlier in the year and thought they had sent a letter out to all the families affected. I did not receive a letter. As a result, the office cancelled all the appointments for the patients with that insurance. I was not advised of that. I explained my boys actually have had another dental insurance provided by their father and would have still been able to keep their appointments. Sharon said they did not know that which makes no sense as they have had this insurance for years and this was the only insurance they had when we started treatment at their office. Cancelling their appointments should've been at my discretion and I should've even had the option to self-pay for their visits. I wasn't given any options. I did not deserve to be treated the way I was when I called. I told them they have created a situation where I am between a rock and a hard place because if I don't call I run the risk of being charged for (3) missed appointments for not knowing when my appointments are and if I do call I am treated horribly by your staff. Sharon offered to clean my boys' teeth for free at their first available appointment which was 3 months away. I was not certain about coming back to an office I was not welcome or wanted at and was no longer comfortable at. I explained I did nothing wrong and was treated horribly and had appointments cancelled without my knowledge when my boys still had full in network dental coverage. I have been treated horribly by this practice and will never set foot in it again. At no point have I been anything less than respectful and polite. The lack of compassion, understanding and absolute disrespect I have received have not warranted or necessary."
