"The front line staff and billing staff are very unwelcoming, do not seem knowledgeable, and have been rude. The cost of service is too high. The dental hygienist was not at all thorough and I felt did a poor job. Dr Skates was fine. Overall I was not comfortable in this office and did not feel they put the patient first. Left after 2nd visit. Would not recommend"

"I have always been terrified of the dentist because of a previous negative experience when I was younger, but was forced to find a dentist when my wisdom teeth caused problems. Dr. Skates took me on as a new patient years ago, and I have been coming back ever since. Her staff has ALWAYS made me laugh, feel safe, welcomed, encouraged, important and taken care of all while being professional. They take the time to get to know you on a personal level and her work is always impeccably done. My fears haven’t fully gone away, but Dr. Skaates and her team have always gone above and beyond to make me comfortable. My teeth have never been better and I now look forward to my appointments. I would highly recommend Dr. Skaates and her practice! Thank you for serving our community! :)"

"Dr. Skaates and her dental hygienist have done a very satisfactory job on my teeth and oral health. The office staff seem to run things fine and are pleasant to work with. Her prices are not very low, but I feel her work is worth it. I have been with her a few years and plan to stay with her. She offers a dental coverage plan which helps bring costs down over time."

"Love this office. Great with kids and adults. Highly recommend switching to here if you are struggling to get the care you need elsewhere. You won't be disappointed. The office is small and quiet. They book appointments well planned out and actually stay on time! The waiting room is never crowded, even pre COVID. ❤ When you walk in you feel welcomed and get that smaller town feeling that they care about you, not just another paycheck walking in the door. The staff remember you! I give them total props for remembering even the small details about my personal life discussed last visit 6 months prior. Makes visits seem less awkward and stressful when you can simply pick the conversation back up from before. They also don't beat you down about dental hygiene. Yes it is important, but life happens and flossing isn't always top of the mind. They will provide tips on creative ways to remember though! They are great with kids. After a few other failed dentist offices with my daughter I decided to switch her to where I go. Best decision ever. The staff are patient and calm with her. They include her in what is going on versus directing everything to me. I can stay in the room with her the entire time (no idea why this is not common practice elsewhere). My son now goes there as well. My daughter even asks to go back to show them her teeth. For kids they bring out the fun cleaning heads on their dental tool (aka the cleaning head may be a zebra or a giraffe). They do have little toy prizes. They do send home little goodie bags to get your child excited about brushing at home. This is a family office, which means even the smallest of patients matter to them. Insurance is accepted up front. Sad that this even has to be brought up nowadays but I know it's a big problem elsewhere in the area. This office will run your insurance and only ask for out of pockets not covered. They help process the insurance claims instead of making you pay for a large bill then have you submit the claim only to find out they coded a dental process a certain way that you won't get reimbursed for, like the other dentists in town. Veterans and nervous dental patients. Dr Skaates provides care to veterans at the local veterans home, which means two major things. One she sees even the worst of teeth so don't be concerned if you have poor teeth and need proper care. Second some veterans have PTSD, or have tough exteriors. This means that if you, or someone you love, needs extra care due to sensory overload or fear of the dentist, she and her staff will take amazing care of you. If you've made it this far in reading this review, that means you have likely experienced not so favorable experiences elsewhere, just as I had. I'll save you the trouble of changing dentists multiple times. Go here and know you will be cared for."
