"My sister, Bert, and I, have been shopping here since 1997 when Dave and Maria owned it. This store was our only reason to come to downtown Manistee. Northern Spirits has everything and things you CANNOT get anywhere else. I loved the Sterling Silver jewelry, and things like crystals, beads, & charms . Also they have the best collection of spiritual jewelry for Christians(rosaries, crosses) Native Americans(beautiful turquoise and kokopelli charms) and Wiccan(Pentacles for protection, smudge sticks for purifications), etc. And the new owner Patty is a total sweetheart. Come and meet her and her wingman, Bert Edel.(yes, my awesome and totally talented sister). Bert teaches beading classes, has extensive knowledge of jewelry, gems, and jewelry repair! She even strings PEARLS. She is amazing. Both ladies know their stuff and want you to have the best shopping experience ever. They will do whatever they need to make sure you get what you need. If you can't find it, the ladies will offer to special order it for you. Jewelry repair onsite. Beading and craft classses. And the absolute sweetest and nicest ladies in the world to help you. They are funny, too. (Ask about the "ghosts" who live at Northern Spirits!)They also have tons of gift items and craft material like yarns of every color and softness. Lots of Celtic influence, also. The best shop in Manistee absolutely. Take it from someone who has shopped there for 20yrs. From the prettiest jewelry with unbelievably reasonable pricing to the handmade gift items made with pure love, you won't find better quality anywhere in Michigan.
