"It was my birthday and there is no place I’d rather be than the city I love, so I flew across country to meet with a friend and celebrate ❤️. I had just three days before I had to go back to Los Angeles and I waited until the last minute to buy some true MoTown attire. I called and left a message because the Google maps address was the print factory, not the retail store . Owner called me back to tell me they were closed and, due to the pandemic, would not be open to the Public for a few weeks. I said I understood and I would have to see him next time I was in town as my Birthday plans had thrown me out of wack… Birthday?!? Well, We can’t have you leave without stopping in on your Birthday! The owner opened his shop for my girlfriend and I like we were celebrities.. we had the entire place to ourselves, we bought between 15-20 shirts and he gave us an amazing price (everything compared to California is an amazing price, but he was really generous and beyond fair). He shared the story of how he had built his business up and we left with not just new clothes, but a renewed sense of pride for the incredible people who continue to show Detroit STILL Hustles Harder. Thank you for being one of the best birthday memories I have ever had!"
