"Overpriced! You can buy brand new items for less at B2 Outlets or other discount retailers. On a recent trip, Target jeans were $20, Banana Republic dress $39, stained Calvin Klein jumpsuit $16, faded Vera Bradley purses $13, used t-shirts $9. Kitchenware is similarly over priced. I think they would sell more thereby raise more money for the needy by reducing their prices on merchandise that is donated to begin with. The last few times I have been there I have left without purchasing anything."

"Prices are outrageous. This location is beautiful & full of treasures, but the prices are high enough that it's best to walk away. Edit before the reply: "Through your purchase at a Mel Trotter Ministries Thrift Store, you help financially support the programs at Mel Trotter Ministries to end homelessness in the greater Grand Rapids Area." This doesn't justify the high prices. You either want to help the homeless or you don't. The prices are outrageous & you're being greedy."

"I had the pleasure of visiting the store for the first time today, senior day and I had a blast! I was there for three hours and could have spent many more. In fact after I got home I realized that I didn’t grab a lamp I had been admiring. Yes, I got a quick ride back and ran in to get it before it was gone. Looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in town visiting my family! Many treasures to be found, thank you very much!"

"Love what Mel Trotter does, however the prices are insane for items that are being donated at no cost. I truly believe that lower prices would mean more money made because more items would sell. Most people who shop at thrift stores are shopping there because they do not have the funds to pay full price, and some of the things I saw here were marked more that what they originally cost (ex. clothing from fast fashion stores + home decor from dollar tree). Please do better."

"Never in my life have I been to a thrift store with prices this high! It is ridiculously overpriced for used items. 9.99 for used shoes?! Really?? 6.99 for a used tank top?? I realize you give back but when you feel like a "thrift store" is robbing you as a consumer, you tend to run. You can't sell thrift items at boutique prices!!"
