"This hospital is absolutely horrid. I brought my mother here to the emergency room because her physician was on staff. We arrived at 11am. As I write this at 8pm she still had not been seen. The waiting area was cramped, smelled of urine, and the staff were absolutely rude with no sense of compassion for individuals in pain or suffering with illness. They WERE however intrigued with tik tok and facebook. I witnessed several people bleeding, leaving the hospital because they were not able to be seen. If you want your condition to worsen or spend your day in a lobby without being seen. This hospital is for you. I don't know who does the national rating, but this hospital falls way beyond subpar. Google please allow reviews with NO stars."

"ER review. Took my friend there based on her condition and was told to go to the ER by her UIC doctor. Was in extreme pain and vomiting. Waited 7 hours before being admitted. The teen who was in line before my friend had fallen from his skateboard and scraped his hands and knee. He was admitted before my seriously ill friend. They obviously take patients in chronological order; not based on need. If they were a professional hospital, they would have access to a network of nearby ERs and route patients to the less busy locations. For some reason Google can tell you how busy restaurants are but not Emergency Rooms. You make more money by keeping your patients waiting than to have them leave and get care elsewhere. UIC is a Business First.....healthcare......far down the line."

"This place is a nightmare. I can't get a hold of any of my doctors. I've needed tests & orders put in, but it's a known fact according to referral staff at my primary doctors to get anything done, because the don't respond. Prior authorizations are never completed, questions never answered or responded to. The care "team" won't talk to each other. Tests I was told I need to be ordered by the doctors are never ordered. Then as said before no one will respond to the prior auth from my insurance. How is my insurance company more reliable than my doctors?! Honestly what's the point of going to this place? It's a full time job to go here. I also waited for over an hour to see the specialists past my appointment several times, where I have to go through hell to find a doctor in break rooms talking to nurses eating & laughing..... I have a chronic illness that's continuing to progress, to the point of permanent damage. I put in my maximum effort to chase these doctors, I drive three hours to see these specific specialists, for what reason? This place is hell......"

"I cannot believe it has a 2.9 rating. UI health is amazing. The clinic part is efficient. The Staff is entirely empathetic helpful and kind. We never wait more than 10 mins to be called in. Everyone explains all the details & procedures. I live 2 minutes from Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn and they do not meet my standards like UI health."
