Little Smiles - North Muskegon

"I wish I could give this place zero stars. First off, this place takes forever to get into, and even longer to get appointments. This place is an absolute joke! Avoid them at all costs. We were referred to Little Smiles from our family dentist, for my (then) 3 year old son. After taking additional x-rays and assessing the amount of work that would need to get done, Little Smiles referred us to Daydreams, where they would put my son under anesthesia and perform 7-8 fillings at the same time. This was NOT an option for us because we had to pay nearly $4000 up front before any surgery was done, then pay any additional balances if there were any. We decided to go the appointment-by-appointment route, where Little Smiles would schedule a few fillings to be done every few months. Over the course of 1.5 years of appointments at Little Smiles, they did 5 fillings and 1 crown on my son. This entire time, my son didn't have not 1 routine cleaning done or any further x-rays besides the initial ones where they first saw all the decay and cavities. When I brought this complaint up to the receptionist, he informed me that my son was considered a "referral", not a "patient". I asked to get all records sent back to our family dentist, and was told by the receptionist that Dr. Miller would have to assess and release my son from his care, and "allow" him to go back to our family dentist. I explained that if we weren't considered a patient, then why would Dr. Miller have any say in where my son goes for dental care?...I got no response. Now that my son is back at his normal dentist, we found out that he now has a tooth abscess, on a tooth that had a filling performed by Little Smiles. The tooth now has to get pulled and a potential spacer put in, by a different pediatric dentist. The family dentist did tell us that the infection under the tooth could've been prevented if the filling were done correctly. So unfortunately, we got the bad end of the stick here, with our experience at Little Smiles. And further more, my 5 year old son has to pay for it. I believe that if Little Smiles treated my son more as a patient, and took care of him with more frequent x-rays and cleanings (since he was in their care for 1.5 years), that maybe this tooth abscess could've been prevented. But they were basing all of his dental treatment on old x-rays, that were initially taken in early 2022. I feel my son was neglected since he wasn't a "patient" and only considered a "referral." I will absolutely never be going back to this place, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. My only recommendation is to STAY AWAY!"

"We brought our oldest in for a cleaning and were blown away by the staff! Everyone was so friendly, attentive and caring. My daughter is a curly headed tornado... She loved going and can’t wait to come back! What kid says that?! Dr Miller (aka, Dr. Millin according to her) is awesome with children. She’s can’t wait to go back and see him. The front desk was all smiles and very welcoming! The hygienist was gentle, kind and really cared about my daughter. Almost like she was her own. You can tell she really cares for her patients. She explained home care, prevention steps and overall gave me more tools as a father to care for my children! The dentist was just as kind and really made this an overall great experience. The staff is great, they all seem to enjoy their environment and have honestly made an impact on my children’s view of the dentist. Thank you for what you guys do. I was the child who was terrified of the dentist. I’m so thankful for your staff. You guys make a huge impact. -Bruno"

"Hands down the best dentist for kids and nervous patients. They make sure that their patients are comfortable and at ease. Wait time is very quick. Always in and out. Dr. Miller is AMAZING for littles! His goofy voice and commentary he makes for the kids is so helpful. The whole staff is great at thoroughly explaining to patients about aftercare."
