"I want to preface this to say that the nurse here was absolutely incredible, I loved her so much! Dr. Jennifer Nowasielski at Great Lakes OBGYN is the single worst medical experience of my life, I truly believe that not only is she a bad doctor but also an awful person. I will never forget what she did to me and how she spoke to me and treated me in one of the most vulnerable times of my life. I came in for my first appointment while pregnant, I was between 10-12 weeks and it was my first pregnancy. When she came in I had some questions, I said ideally I’d want a natural birth but a healthy baby is the priority, she told me I should get a midwife and I said I wanted a doctor, after that she kept checking her watch nonstop throughout our entire appointment which I waited for weeks for. Then she says I need a Pap smear and I said really, I was surprised by that, she cracked a joke saying you’re at a gyno office what did you think was going to happen here. Then she proceeded to give me the most violent and painful Pap of my life and when I silently said holy moly that hurts to her scraping she said and you expect to have a natural birth? While laughing at me. Then it was time for a transvaginal ultrasound, after struggling to figure out the machine, she spent I’m not exaggerating less than a minute inside me and said I’m not seeing what I’m supposed to see so I’ll send you for an ultrasound at the hospital. I asked should I be worried and she said not yet, I knew in that moment I had lost the baby and I started crying, she looked through me, as if I was a wall, she kept checking her watch the entire time even through this moment! I asked if they had run the pregnancy test yet and she sarcastically replied that’s what I’m going to do right now. She came back and while I’m still actively crying told me the test was positive and she will see me at my next appointment. I believe she knew I miscarried but didn’t think I was worth it to share that information with, she didn’t want to deal with me and instead made me suffer another week before getting in to the hospital. She laughed at me, she violated me, she treated me as less than a person and she made me feel as small and helpless as possible on my most vulnerable day. As I said in the beginning I think she is a HORRIBLE person and if this is what the medical field is like I’m terrified to ever go again."
