Staybridge Suites Southgate – Detroit Area, an IHG Hotel

"The location is good next to Highway and a lot of fast food restaurants in the area. Nice amenities with a swimming pool. Evening socials from Monday to Wednesday. The rooms and the entire property was very clean and properly maintained However, the stuff may not be the most friendly with some of them showing racism in their actions"

"The location works great, and the price for a king suite was a good value, but it unfortunately stops there. We were in 117. - bathroom wall outlet emitted a bright light, which made sleeping difficult. - queen sized comforter used on a king mattress, which was strange and not enough. - no housekeeping for our room during our entire stay. - body wash was out of stock on arrival. - art was weird, hung at strange heights, and had lamps and other items covering them. - there’s a notice on the fridge to take out your own garbage at the end of your stay, similar to an Air B&B. Seemed odd. Overall, I wanted to love it for future stays when visiting family, but it was really lackluster. I did, however, appreciated the nighttime FDA that gave us a bottle of soap when we asked about it that evening."

"a hotel is a hotel. this place is new, has nice amenities, air quality is good. everything you could look for in a hotel that seems so hard to find. BUT THE REAL REASON this place is phenomenal -- the women who greet you at the front desk and care for all of your initial needs. WOW these women are A+++. They make the hotel SOOOOO much nicer than just a building. Their professionalism and attention to detail are beyond what i have EVER experienced in the local area. I really hope they know how much they are appreciated. I can't explain how much better our stay was simply because of their job skill. They MAKE the environment here."

"I have never stayed at the Southgate location prior to my stay. Great initial customer service which I absolutely appreciated! I was greeted and taken care of with a SMILE, which was so refreshing. The hotel was so clean (Lobby, hallways, and room). I was thoroughly pleased. There was a fire pit area that was so nice and pretty and the hotel has an adjacent enclosed pool. The hotel is kinda pushed back which may cause a problem with the traffic congestion, however, this was my only complaint. I would definitely book again!!"

"I came into town on Wednesday, July 26 for Beyoncé concert. When we checked in at 4:30, the lady who was there was very nice but she informed us that the electricity was out so we would have to take the stairs to our room and there will be no lights or Air conditioning. She told us that the stuff should be on later that day so we went to the room got dressed and headed out for the concert. We got back to the hotel at 1 AM and when we got back to our room everything was still off. I called the front desk and spoke to Teresa, who was amazing , her customer service is excellent. I felt like I was talking to a family member. She made me so comfortable. She told us there was nothing she could do about the electricity. There was a lot of stuff going on with the hotel at the moment such as the pool over flooding toilets over flooding and people still not having any electricity or air , the only thing that worked in the room was the lamp so that meant that we had to use our phone light in order to shower. When checking out the lady was super nice and offered enough points for a free night. Theresa deserves a raise!"
