Candlewood Suites Elkhart, an IHG Hotel

"I would give the place a 5 star rating in each category were it not for Murphy’s Law of Smoke Detectors which randomly decided to start going off for seemingly no reason at around 2am. The two ladies at the front desk deserve a whole MEDAL though- as they tirelessly kept trying to figure out what was the issue. Eventually they just moved me to a different room. I probably would’ve canceled the reservation entirely were it not for the front desk ladies who so valiantly braved the evil smoke detector."

"I had really loved the stay here and was looking forward to coming back for work. However, I accidentally left some very important paperwork in my room that the cleaning staff must have thrown away. So disappointed that such important paperwork could be dismissed. Will not be returning for this reason."

"All around mediocre. My mistake not realizing this was an extended stay weekly hotel. Pro: Rooms are big and furnishings are on par with any other IHG Holiday-Inn Express type room. Cons: * Housekeeping only comes once per week. * All they have is free coffee in the lobby. * my fridge was leaking on the interior and housekeeping left have towels to catch the condensation. * Because you can cook in the room there was a food odor and there was something sticky on the floor. * Office chair provided in the room was extremely uncomfortable. And the desk space was shallow. My laptop barely fit. * There was a TV tray that you can use but there was no chair to use it. * Overnight check in at 130 AM. I had to wait on the lobby about 15 minutes for the personnel to come back to the desk. Otherwise, good visit just needs some attention to detail. None of these issues even prompted me to go complain but they will simply drive me to make another hotel choice next time"

"so far so good. if i don't edit this review after sleeping here the 5 stars will hold. it did not. see below. all that said another stay here is on the table. we're not tv size sensitive so the 36" screen is not significant to us. for around $100 this place is high value. kitchen is trailer like in size. But how many trailers have a disposal, dishwasher, and full size frig?? + the frig was squeaky clean. .... As was the room. fixtures are very updated, rugs clean, no signs of shabbiness on the furniture. The recliner chair and the nice desk chair made for some comfortable tv viewing. Best of all the staff has been super some tea helpful. On unloading in the close-by handicap space one of them, seeing me help wife transfer from bucket seat to walker, offered to help. A different one offered to come into the room to help me master the remote control. Another one supplied some tea bags for the guest service coffee/goody area on request. morning update: had to take this down to 4 stars based on overnight info. ....noisy and leaky dishwasher, the coffee machine in the lobby only dispensed brown water even when "strong" was selected."

"Horrible experience here!! We stayed for the rv show in elkhart. After a couple days I called in to ask for our rooms to be made up and the lady who answered said " you should have called earlier, that probably won't happen". I came in to speak with her later that day and ended up asking to talk to a manager. She let me know the "owner" was walking up. I asked him if we could please have our rooms made up, and at the very least, have fresh towels. He said he would make it happen. We'll when we got back to our room later that night, nothing at all was done. Rude staff and horrible customer service!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!"
