Homewood Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids

"I stayed in room 125, which is near an exterior door. It's a king room and it has a full kitchen, with a stove, plates, and utensils (except for forks for some reason). The room was clean and it has 2 TVs. Even though the room was near an external door, we couldn't hear people coming in and out when we had the bedroom door closed. There's no hairdryer. The waffle maker worked really well but there were no fun toppings. This hotel is in a good location with plenty of parking. Very nice stay. Easy check in, easy to sleep in, easy breakfast. 10/10"

"Trust the other reviews. This place was not a Hilton I'm used to. Gross furniture, broken tiles in bathroom, noisey hallways that smelled of pot. Saturday morning breakfast didn't have anything hot and the room was super cold. Pool was closed the whole time. The grounds were littered with trash. The lady at check out was super rude as well...Don't check in here!!!"

"From the start it was horrible. We arrived at 5pm to check in and we were told our room (that we had picked in the Hilton honors app) was not ready(check in is at 3pm!!) so they tried switching out rooms. We decided to wait since we picked that room with other guests we were traveling with. Then when we finally got to our room the keys wouldn’t work. It was about 1.5 hrs later we finally got in our room. Room was ok but we had a few minor complaints. Dresser drawers broken, stains on furniture, cold showers, lack of towels and sheets. The room across the hall had wall paper and trim peeling off into the hall from an obvious water leak. The hotel seemed to be a mess. The only thing we really enjoyed was the breakfast (the lady there in the mornings was very sweet in the kitchen area). Anna was also nice who helped us figure out our room situation. We never really complain about anything or leave bad reviews but felt this was necessary when they charged *US* an extra charge for the garbage in our room. We don’t think $250 is fair for your normal garbage pick up. When we asked hotel about it the manager was extremely rude. We spoke with Hilton customer service and they were very nice and helpful. ****Be aware if you stay here to take pictures for proof of everything. And make complaints if you are unhappy. But I will NEVER stay at this location again and I advise anybody reading this to stay far away from this place!!!"

"Customer service is horrible! I arrived at around 12:00pm and asked for early check-in. They said no rooms were available, that I could come back at 3:00pm. (Which I completely understood since check in time is at 3:00). I came back and when I tried to do my check-in again they informed me that they were overbooked and no rooms were available. They cancelled my reservation. Not even an apology. The lady at the front desk even made a comment about how she has to give preference to her honor guests. I came for a soccer tournament we drove for 3hrs with two kids and then waited another 3. They could have called or text to inform of the cancellation."

"If the place is remodeling ...it could be good. However I felt the details were missed. The trim was.peeling, the shower drain was rusty, there were lots of boxes in side rooms. It just felt like they put up new wallpaper and called it a Hilton. Front desk service was great."
