"NOT worth the money!! We arrived to a great valet pick up by Payton, the only person who seemed to understand hospitality. Most everything went down from there. It was a chilly rainy weekend and the fire wood was wet and difficult to get a fire started when actually, given the circumstances a fire should have been already started once we arrived. When paying $450 per night for a glorified tent, we expected the service and food to be top shelf. Instead, the following morning we had store bought bagels and donuts with mediocre coffee. Dinner was good but the wines served were one step from boxed. Sunday morning we were served coldish quiche by someone clearly not caring about quality or service as it was simple enough to reheat the food to proper temperature. No fresh fruit, no juice, no eggs, bacon, pancakes or anything to warm us up from a 40 degree night. Nothing farm to table whatsoever with the food and we’re sitting it the middle of a beautiful fields. To cap things off, upon departure the driver pulls up in the golf cart with wet seats and wet luggage area without getting up from her blanketed seat and watched me dry the seats for my wife and then load our luggage into the wet luggage hold. I can only imagine someone was asleep at the switch this weekend as this is supposed to be a magical place. I’ve never written a review before but my level of disappointment hit a new bar, worthy of sharing."

"5 stars? More like 10 stars! This place is simply amazing. From the moment you arrive, you’re transported into this immersive experience that is so far beyond your normal day to day life you can’t help but wonder why you didn’t break away sooner. My wife and I had the pleasure of escaping the kids for a night and chose The Fields of Michigan as our destination. We drove in from Chicago and spent most of the afternoon visiting South Haven’s (10 minutes away) endless shops and eateries. From there, we ventured to a nearby winery to sample some more of the local flavors and eventually found ourselves at The Fields of Michigan. Once you arrive, you are greeted by Peyton who is the nicest kid that works there throughout the summer. Peyton helps you with your bags and whisks you off via golf cart to your tent. The tent itself is stunning. The bedding and decor are luxurious and each tent has its own bathroom, air conditioner, fire pit, etc. Once settled, we found ourselves strolling through the woods on a tree-lined, tiki torch trail that led to the quaintest little bar. Other guests congregate there before dinner and Linda (Linda is amazing!) will make whatever drink you desire (mas margaritas por favor!). After socializing for a bit, it’s off to dinner where a 30+ person outdoor table has been beautifully decorated with sunflowers and candles. The owner, Irene (also amazing!), greeted each guest and dined with us sharing her experiences and why she fell in love with The Fields of Michigan. Chef Mindy then greeted the table and provided an overview of what she was preparing for us that evening, and why it was special to her. She is simply delightful and her food / creativity will make you wish you were dining there for a week straight. After dinner, the entire venue is lit by tiki torches and fires along the pathways. The stars are out in full force and most folks venture back to the bar retreat in the woods to visit Linda again for more entertainment and relaxation. You’ll find yourself that night sitting in front of your own personal fire pit, staring up at the stars and ultimately climbing into your electronically heated bedsheets. In the morning, you can have breakfast and a Bloody Mary with Chef Mindy and then venture out to Saugatuck (15 minutes away) for more strolling and shopping. If you have the ability, make this a destination of yours. It’s far removed from the normal hotel / AirBNB scene and was truly an amazing EXPERIENCE all around!"

It’s one of favorite destinations and Irene, the owner, is just one of the best humans on earth!!! She makes sure that absolutely everything taken care of for you. Her staff is exceptional - Linda, will make you the best cocktail/drink; Mindy will make you the best breakfast and dinner; Peyton will make sure you have everything you need from firewood to s’mores. GO VISIT!!! SPEND THE WEEKEND!!! YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE!!!"

"We just spent 3 days/2 nights there for the kids weekend. It was awesome my 8 yo didn’t want to leave! The tents are cozy, beds are soft and large and very comfortable. The evening fire and s’mores are awesome. Breakfast and sat night dinner were delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Lots of kids activity, games, they had a movie projector, the blueberry fields, canteen for snacks, biking and exploring. 10 min drive to the beach south haven. lots of fun! We would definitely be back."

"We stayed at The Fields for our 5 year anniversary. From the time we got there until the time we left, the service and hospitality was spectacular. The site was very clean, comfortable, and peaceful. They had a bottle of their wine there for us as a gift to celebrate our anniversary. We booked a dinner for an evening and the food was amazing, definitely recommend that experience! Also, we were expecting a small continental breakfast of muffins or something, but instead had a filling breakfast prepared by chef Mindy every morning. Eggs, potatoes, sausage, french toast, blueberry pie.... Thank you all for such a wonderful experience and we can't wait to come back next year!"
