"We struggled with the front desk staff. Our plan of having four adults and a toddler in a suite didn't work; the suite was far too small. Front desk staff let us switch to two rooms, which was a big upgrade. But we had to pay for all three rooms, then wait for a refund of the room nights we didn't stay in the suite. Once we returned home, we hit a refund but not for the amount promised. We had to follow up several times to get the right amount. The hotel is about ten minutes from South Haven. The rooms were clean but small. Each room has a window in the door and a very bright light outside the window, which is a problem. The last night I unscrewed the bulb. The property is pleasant but not spectacular. If I return to South Haven in the future, I would be willing to pay a lot more to avoid this experience."

"I wanted to like this place but after our experience I do not recommend staying here and was pretty disappointed with our stay. Issues we experienced: photos/descriptions of the rooms were misleading and inaccurate, the front desk was not very competent (we switched rooms halfway through-because of the wrong photos online- and she wrote on a post it note the new charges with her own math and then refunded us the wrong amount which I had to complain twice about after our stay before receiving it), then there were so many lights outside at night - so many lights that it was very difficult to sleep (bring a sleep mask!!). Also can’t figure out what the deal is with their no BYOB rule - I’ve never heard of that! Some upsides: the rooms were very clean, the place is cute - old school feel but charming…hmm that’s it unfortunately. I would not stay here again."

"This place is great! I booked last minute, and there was 1 room left. It was a Jack and Jill style and worked for our family of 4. I would have loved to be in one of the 2 bedroom suites, but we'll check that out next time. The room was clean and cozy, with hardwood floors. Keyless entry, which was very convenient. The weather was beautiful and the outdoor pool was where we spent most of our time. It was perfect! They had some yard games and volleyball available, but we didn't participate in that.....this time around. Nice little swing by the pond area to relax on. The staff were so nice and you can tell they maintain the place well. It's tucked away from all the busy traffic but only 5 minutes from downtown South Haven. We will definitely be back next year!!"

"This is an older resort with that "old world" charm. The rooms are clean, TV and air conditioner, and all amenities, in good working condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is warm and clean. The rooms are small, as found in older resorts, but nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. If looking for a resort to come back to after spending a day at the beach in South Haven, or a family friendly resort, this would be a good place to stay! I will come back again, and bring my family next time!"

"Made last minute plans to spend the weekend in South Haven and ran across this place. I was kind of hesitant to reserve, due to some reviews but decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! This place is great...I have no idea why there are any bad reviews! I did stay in the Lake House and it seems to be a new building compared to some. The property is well maintained, absolutely beautiful. The pool was salt-water and heated. There was quite a few toys and life jackets for kids, as well as beach towels to use. The nature trails were beautiful too. The only thing I could see is if you were coming as a large family, the room is pretty small. The grounds aren't though and so much to keep the kids busy doing. I think this would be the only thing a large family would want to know before coming. We brought our granddaughter and were in town at the beach all day and were so happy to come back to the resort to wind down for the rest of the day. She loved the pool and large yard to play in. She also really enjoyed the walking paths and we saw bunnies and deer. Will definitely be staying again soon!"
