"My husband and I have stayed here several times over the years.... We were married here last September, 2021. We also stayed here with the children, in June 2022. The setting, lake, the cabins, and Mark (owner) are all wonderful. However, the other owner, Jackie, appears to experience some untreated mental health issues... Beware... Her moods swing: One moment she is absolutely lovely, the next moment, very rude and inappropriately nasty and reactive....We are actually not sure we shall return here, which is rather a shame...."

"We stayed here in mid July and were very pleased with our stay! Our girls enjoyed the playscape and fishing in Lake Nettie. We absolutely loved our cottage. It was the perfect accommodation for our family of 5. The owners were super friendly and welcoming. We left a deposit for next year on the morning we left. Looking forward to coming back and making this an annual trip for our family."

"The setting for the cozy lodge and cabins is perfectly picturesque. Getting away from life’s hustle was so refreshing. The hosts are so kind. And the home-cooked meals were just wonderful! I wish there were more than 5 stars to give as a rating!!"

"Do not stay here. The owner Jackie is completely unhinged and comes up with new random rules regardless of what contracts say. She double books rooms and confuses dates and harasses and lurks upon guests constantly. We went with my husband and 8 year old and my parents. We booked the cabin for 7 nights (aug 22-28) with 5 people. She immediately had issues with cabin being occupied over 4 people even though we booked it for 5. The owner Jackie (Karen) freaked out over our 94 year old local grandparents coming for lunch our 4th day there as guests weren’t allowed even though nowhere in the contract, welcome book or receipt from paying does it mention that rule. In our cabin was a rule book that mentioned how pets had to be leashed, we brought no pet but my 94 year old grandmother brought her 15 year old 5lb blind Pomeranian and that was just way to much for Jackie. We were the only people on the entire 6 cabin property for the week. We even were happy to pay $15 a piece for the guests which she insisted upon if they stayed more than an hour. This would have been bad enough to sour us but we stayed 3 more days…. And spent everyday away from the cabin at Lake Huron and the falls for the day. On our 6th morning there Friday the 27th at 10:04 the owner Jackie came angrily knocking on our door asking why we’re not gone by 10. We were shocked as we had paid for another night and she said the cabin was booked and we needed to leave. We showed her our receipt which clearly had us booked until the 28th and she proceeded to be disrespectful and rude because of her own mistake. She even tried to snatch the receipt my mother had out of her hands!!! We were of course angry and confused and she acted like we were rude for questioning her even though we are paying guests. We started packing quickly as we were obviously not welcome and she came back with a huge attitude while it was pouring rain and us trying to pack saying that well now we could stay. She knew she was in the wrong but we absolutely no longer wanted to stay. I have never been so disrespected as a paying customer in my life. Do not give this place money the view isn’t worth the hassle of dealing with the owners. We left the house clean and still made the beds and took out all the trash. We were offered no refund for the night we didn’t spend there and the half sarcastic apology she tried to give for her own mistake was abysmal. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. There’s also no phone service and awful internet. We stayed here many times over the years and this lady is only getting more cranky and unwelcoming."

"Mark and Jackie Schuler are an amazing couple. They made our stay precisely what we were looking for. Mrs. Jackie’s cooking was out of this world and Mark’s guiding was top notch. Christine and Vinnie made us feel like family. The setting is serene and cabins cozy. A splendid array of animals around the lake and patio. Perfect place to reconnect with Mother Nature."
