"I really enjoyed my stay at the econo lodge, due to work had to stay for weeks at the time. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean the beds are comfortable, clean towels for showers breakfast every morning. Thank you for your service."

"I don't often leave reviews but I felt the need to in this case because the 2.7 average review seems unfair to me. Maybe I got lucky? I was in town for the weekend to participate in a competition and this was the only reasonably priced option left by the time I booked. I was concerned by the reviews but the location was close to the venue and I needed that for an early start. The property itself has a few minor issues like external doors that stick a bit, and some of the signs posted worried me like the extra deposit if paying cash and the "house keeping only upon request" sign. However, what I saw when I entered the room was literally the opposite of what I was expecting. I've stayed in many, many hotels and motels over the years and I have to say this was literally the most updated motel room I have ever been in. Everything was new and nice with the one exception of the alarm clock, which still worked so I guess no need to fix it right? The room was also clean despite the sign I had seen, each of the attendants I met were nice, and everything in the room worked properly. I also received my full deposit back on my card within a couple days. Listen, I stayed in another motel in the 2 star range (until I demanded a refund and left) in Myrtle Beach this year, and it was literally a roach motel. Cockroaches and bedbugs everywhere, old, flaking furniture and rusty appliances, and broken door locks. THIS motel is the polar opposite of that. How on earth do they have similar ratings?? I would stay here again, and probably will if I return to the same competition next year."

"For a visit to the Traverse City area, this is a great option. Not downtown, but in a great central location, 15 minutes from downtown, 40 minutes from sleeping bear and 11 minutes Boone's Long Lake Inn. Our room was clean and comfortable. Nothing exceptional but for the amount of time we spent in our room it was perfect. There is no elevator so if you have a room on tue second floor you will have to use the stairs."

"Affordable place to stay in Traverse City, expectantly the features of the hotel reflect that. Rooms were clean, bathrooms are newly refurbished. Rooms and exterior doors are key card entry only. Beyond those positive points, it had all the telltale signs of an older, cheaper hotel."

"One of the worst hotel/motels we have stayed in. The place from outside looked pretty bad, when we pulled up to the hotel, my 8 year old daughter started to cry!. Inside the room looked more updated with fake wood floors and decent looking comforters, however the room was dirty. The floor was not cleaned and the toilet was dirty! A shelf fell on me that had a safe on it. Also my son got pink eye and I am pretty sure it was from that disgusting place. Front desk lady was pretty nice and that's why I am giving it 1 star instead of 0. I will never go there again and tell everyone I know to avoid it."
