"Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable. We stayed with our dog one night and felt very welcome. The breakfast was great, and service was even better. I loved the little things like the hot chocolate bar and the riddle of the day. We will definitely be staying again. This hotel is located right across the street from the beautiful State Park Beach. What a view!"

"12/13/23-12/15/23- I'll start with a shout out to Kathy and Sue. Kathy was on duty when I walked in. If you travel there's nothing more frustrating than walking in and made feel you're putting an employee out. Kathy greeted me immediately and found my reservation. I was early but my room was ready, so Kathy let me check in. She gave me the scoop on the town and a list of places to eat and visit. I am a Diamond member but I saw her treat another guest the same way. So you'll get a nice reception. Sue was on the night shift and I had to ask a few questions. She was kind about it and went the extra mile. To add to my evening I had to go ask her twice for a TV remote to the gym. Sue wasn't bothered. Sue helps the guests with places to eat. Two guests came in and thanked her for a recommebdation. The hotel is across a State Beach and it has a play area for young kids. You can watch a sunset or sunrise from your room. The room's come with a small fridge and microwave. I had two beds and it was fine for me. You have all you need for a short stay. The gym is small and has no weights but if you like cardio they have the new Peloton, treadmill and elliptical. I am diabetic so this works for me. The pool is available and it's quiet. The water is warm and lots of towels. Breakfast is early and features a nice variety. They have to go babe if you have an early flight. If I return for a quick trip this is my place thanks to Kathy and Sue!"

"If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. I wish I'd gone online and read the reviews before booking, because our stay was a NIGHTMARE. This hotel is advertised as pet friendly, yet when my husband and I travelled with our 3 dogs (2 of which are documented ESA's), the staff was rude, degrading, and I flat out caught them badmouthing us, saying how "they probably printed it it from offline". When I confronted both of them (Sue and Nancy), and told them I would GLADLY show them our medical provider and mental health provider notes, they fed me garbage in an attempt to distract from the fact that they were badmouthing my husband and I and got caught doing it. They additionally tried to reprimand my husband for taking one of our dogs into the breakfast nook (which we did not, because they have signs requesting that pets not be near the food areas and we can read). We were supposed to stay for 3 nights, but left after 2. We were called and informed that there'd been several complaints about our dogs barking and how this was bothering other guests and staff members. And while yes, our dogs did bark at times (they are dogs...it's a strange new environment, there were a lot of new and loud sounds) it was also poor planning on the scheduling for the hotel. Who in their right minds puts 2 rooms right next to each other with both rooms having dogs? Aside from the main issue, I honestly expected more from a Hampton Inn and for the price we paid. The rooms are ridiculously small, our bed felt like concrete to sleep on, the TV didn’t work half the time, the doors to the bathroom are these weird barn-door type things that don’t lock, and our shower did not seem to be put in correctly because it made awful creaking sounds. The location is not the greatest traffic wise (good luck trying to exit left out of their lot). My husband and I are DISGUSTED with the way the staff handled this and treated us. I was told they'll be refunding our 3rd night, but we'll see if that happens. I can imagine they'll attempt to make an excuse about not refunding or coming up with an absurd "service charge" out of spite. Very dissatisfied with our service here. I will be making additional complains to the site manager, the better business bureau, and whatever higher up there is for Hampton Inns."

"I stay in Hilton chains all the time for work! But this place is awesome! The warm welcoming in, the snacks at the entrance, the information board of what’s going on in Traverse City, along with weather, riddles, and other cool little information. Only downfall is US31, it’s always busy and usually I go right to the next light to go west. But it is what it is! The staff is very friendly, and the accommodations are awesome! They do put their own twist on breakfasts, which I truly appreciate because if you’ve had one Hilton breakfast you’ve had them all. But that is a true appreciation I have for this place!"

"The hotel is nice and clean AND the staff is super friendly! I wish they had a hot tub to soak in after a long hike, but the pool area is nice and hot with a really cold pool. We thought the water would be warmer in this Fall weather, but it was super cold. Breakfasts were delightful & I really liked the spin they put on the meals!!!Seasoned potatoes, fresh fruit, hot apple cider, actual flavor to the food...YUM!!! Made it better than the other Hilton humdrum breakfasts I've had. Our room was cleaned to perfection since we stayed for a week. Only complaints were the 1-ply toilet paper (we bought softer), no weights in the workout room but I'm sure it'd be a liability issue maybe, no hot tub/sauna, the tiny shower that creaked with every step & soft water, the hard uncomfortable bed, and tiny pillows. Once we worked ourselves out hard enough during the day and worked out on the Elliptical and Peleton, we had good sleep on the hard mattress fighting over pillows. Woke up with some crooks in our necks but some stretches alleviated the pain."
