"We stayed in the dollhouse at first, it was not warm enough for our baby so we were able to switch rooms to a beautiful lake view terrace room. The place could use signage about what room numbers are where. A little disorganized as the rooms are different owners as the cafe and bar. Would love to stay in the terrace unit again, beautiful and homey"

"Very easy to check in, lovely place! The pool was closed but because that wasn’t listed anywhere on their site, they let our group use the pool/hot tub-which was like heaven! The dollhouses could use some sprucing up, many small details overlooked that could really turn them into the gems they are. Please put the shoulder season hours for the food/shop/pool on your website, we were surprised when we arrived nothing was open. I would recommend the dollhouses only if they have maintenance do necessary fixes, small things that make a big difference. The queen bed was terrible, we woke up very early due to the bed’s uncomfortable nature. All-in-all it was lovely, but we know for next time to rent a bigger place onsite. It truly is a hidden gem!"

"The room was wonderful. Very nicely equipped. We really didn't even need to bring the coffee maker that we did because there was one already there. The unit was clean. The location is not ideal. Your view from the patio is of a fenced area where the hot tub is. Sitting at your patio, the lake view is partially obscured. There were people in the hot tub until very late hours which was rather bothersome. So the view in unit one isn't optimal. All in all, however, a very nice condo. What was very disappointing was that we had also rented a slip for our boat. When we arrived, there was a boat already parked in our slip. I was assured after reporting this issue but that the other boat had moved so we could pull in but they had not, nor did they ever move. We were offered alternate accommodations which we did not choose to utilize. I have been told my money would be refunded by Mike, the reservation contact for that slip, but it has not yet been refunded. Portage Point Resort is a lovely place. There appears to be much work yet to be performed to make it a top notch resort. The comparisons I read online to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island are pretty much off, having stayed there several times. It has the potential and hopefully in the future it will reach that potential. This resort was a bucket list for me. I can't say that I was disappointed, but there were things that certainly could have been better."

"I did not spend time as a hotel guest. But walked around and had lunch. Wonderful historic hotel! Separate cottages across the street. Service was friendly. Food was good. Entertainment outside was excellent. They're on Portage Lake which dips into Lake Michigan. Portage Pointe Inn is a must to check out."
