About the Business
The University of Michigan Law Library, located at 801 Monroe Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a valuable resource for the Michigan Law Community. Access to the legal research building is restricted to members of the Michigan Law Community during certain times, so it is important to check the building hours for details.
Members of the Michigan Law Community can log in to their library account to manage book requests, as well as access the Interlibrary Loan account to manage scan requests and requests from non-U-M libraries. The library also provides guides to help users find resources and learn about research in various subject areas, jurisdictions, law school courses, and events like exams and OCI.
Librarians are available at the Information Desk on Sub-1 of the underground library during Law School classes. The Ask A Law Librarian chat service is also available to all patrons and is designed to meet the legal research needs of UM students, staff, and faculty. Researchers can schedule appointments to meet with a Reference Librarian in person or virtually, and can also text or email questions for assistance. Additionally, the library database of FAQs offers answers to commonly asked questions.
