"Excellent, gifted, caring surgeon. I am so thankful to have found Dr. LaMacchia. I was struggling with low back herniated disk pain for over a year and a half. If you are reading this review you know what I am talking about! The pain continued to become increasingly worse to point of not being able to go to work consistently, sleep, spend time with friends or family. I was taking multiple doses of pain medication a day without relief. The pain became so excruciating I found myself laying on the floor, crying trying to somehow get relief. I had thrown everything at this back pain. I went to an OMT doctor, physical therapy, chiropractic, decompression treatments, I had a pain management doctor give me an injection that did absolutely nothing. You name it, I tried it. So many people put the fear of God into me about getting back surgery. I held off until it was absolutely unbearable. If I could, I would go back in time and went to see Dr. LaMacchia sooner. He’s a straight shooter and meets his patients where they are at in their journey. I immediately felt confident in his knowledge, professionalism and abilities. He truly cares about the wellbeing of his patients. Dr. LaMacchia is NOT the type of doctor who sees you once, does your surgery and sends you on your way. He cares about your health. Before I even had my surgery he gave me directions on how to prepare by drinking protein shakes for healing, washing the surgical site twice daily to decrease the risk of infection and so on. He came into my room to talk to me everyday in the hospital. He is wholeheartedly involved in your entire plan of care. He is a rare gem to find in healthcare these days. His assistant Brandi is equally amazing! I was able to text her with any questions when I came home from surgery. It wasn’t even 20 minutes before she wrote me back to answer my question! I had great experiences with all the staff members with whom I interacted. From the front desk, the PA Zachary, medical assistants, X-ray techs, and the office personnel. My follow up care has been thorough and given with the excellence I received prior to and during my surgery/hospital stay. After one week I was only using Tylenol as needed for recovery. I had a laminectomy with part of my disk that was calcified removed. Can you believe in one week I was already feeling that good? I couldn’t. But, there I was, feeling so much better. At 3 months post op, I am completely pain free and taking no pain medication whatsoever. Now, I realize as should you, everyone’s case is different. I will also say that the two other patients that recommended me to Dr. LaMacchia who both required spinal fusions are doing fantastic as well. His work speaks for itself. Listen to his instructions, get up and walk as soon as you are allowed after surgery, continue to walk when you get home and drink your protein shakes! Finally, be incredibly thankful and lucky to have found Dr. LaMacchia and receive his fantastic care!"
