"I am currently being treated by Dr Welch because of high blood pressure during my pregnancy and I just had to leave a review after reading all the negative reports on google. From the very first moment on, Dr Welch and his entire team have given me the feeling of being in the very best care I could wish for during this exciting journey. Everyone is taking so much time to explain everything to me and to answer the many questions a first-time mother. Also, nurse Becky is an absolute gem and even gave me the number of her direct line so I could call her whenever I had any additional questions she could help me with. For those who criticized the front-desk staff: they did not greet me with a flower bouquet either, but those ladies are only doing their job which does get stressful at times (and we shouldn't forget that there are other things happening behind the scenes which patients aren't always aware of). But - and that is what matters - they have always been courteous and very helpful. There was another review about the ultrasound tech who was described as rather rude, so I was a bit insecure when taking my husband to his first ultrasound with me. Our tech made a long ultrasound and explained everything in detail and also graciously answered all questions we had (the really medical ones like "what are those red and blue dots we are seeing right now?"). And we even got a whole lot of images to take home with us to share with our family. As regards parking - you should be aware of the fact that this is an outpatient center with a walk-in lab so that the parking lot does fill up occasionally. I would therefore always advise to arrive well in time as you might have to search for a parking space - which will not always be right at the entrance of the building. But this is definitely nothing this office can directly be blamed for, but the location just requires a little planning ahead of time. All in all, I am very glad to be in such professional hands and to be treated by a doctor who obviously has all the experience I could have hoped for. And I can and do definitely recommend this office."

"My appointment was at 1:30 I was in the office by 1:40 there was barely any parking and I am 9 months pregnant so it’s hard to walk as is! When I get there the lady asked for my name and when I said it she said “ oh they just came up and we can’t do you’re appointment today” when I asked why she said they are running behind and you are running late ( grace period is 15 minutes ) it states so on there checkin etc and also if they are running behind wouldn’t me being late help ? Which is what I asked and she proceeded to say well there are people who are on time for there appointments that have to be seen and they are using one of the rooms for a procedure I’m not sure how that is my problem though and deserves my appt to be canceled this lady in particular is always very rude when I check in and never friendly especially for someone working around pregnant women I am being induced next week and had no extra time to come in except today which I stated and no care was given do not come here I would not recommend! I called Southfield MFM and they said they can squeeze me in at 3:30 same day! But this women offered me no accommodation and looked at me like I was rude for saying I couldn’t do any other day so last minute!"

"I was referred to this office for weekly non-stress tests and ultrasounds. My experiences were overall pleasant, but a few concerning things stood out. Despite it being in the middle of Covid and being an office that works with at-risk pregnancies, the staff was not properly wearing masks during multiple visits. When I was trying to figure out scheduling, the staff was quite pushy and forward. I explained that I needed to talk to my OBGYN to figure out what they wanted me to do in regards to splitting the tests between two offices she replied “they’ll want you to schedule them all here.” (Which turned out not to be true.) and pressured me into making unnecessary appointments. Lastly, they called to cancel my appointment due to an impending snowstorm when I was 40 weeks pregnant and told me to “call the hospital to schedule a test if I wanted.” I completely understand needing to close due to unsafe weather, but in my opinion, it’s not appropriate to not provide some type of follow up assistance in ensuring I am able to still receive a non stress test and ultrasound when I’m 40 weeks and am at risk pregnancy."

"I had a great experience with the Providence Maternal Fetal Medicine office. I had multiple pregnancy difficulties, so I had to see them a lot more than the average pregnant woman. Every appointment I had I was seen right on time or earlier than I was scheduled. Nurse Becky was very kind and extremely helpful with managing my gestational diabetes. I can't praise her enough. I was scared and stressed, and she helped put my mind at ease. The technician who did my ultrasounds was thorough and told me exactly what each and every measurement meant. She also gave me plenty of ultrasound pictures to take home. Both doctors I saw there were knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Would highly recommend them to other women!"

"The staff was rude! They had no compassion or solution to the billing issue I was having. They kept blaming the insurance company. They said the insurance company doesn't care that the doctor feels it's a medically necessary ultrasound. I told the staff it was a coding problem on their end and they just kept saying I had an outstanding balance. Do your job MFM staff! When I tried to contact my OB office to clear things up the staff member that came out told me I would have to reschedule my appointment (because I was on the phone) (still had 3 minutes until my appointment started) needless to say I walked out! I told her that I didn't want to get stuck with another $400 bill for another "medically necessary ultrasound" It didn't seem to matter to her at all. So pretty much MFM staff told me I had to pay for an ultrasound that the doctor ordered because I was Bleeding & cramping and found I had placenta previa.....because it's not medically necessary? Are you kidding me? I must be dreaming! I will NEVER go back! If I could, I would switch hospitals because I don't need this kind of stress. I did nothing wrong."
