"Absolutely abysmal treatment. Therapist Lashonda Smith does not care about her patients at all. My daughter has been having emotional issues and desperately wanted to see a therapist. We scheduled our 1st appointment for Feb. 1st and on the ride their, her office called stating she had an emergency and canceled 30 minutes before our scheduled time. We rescheduled for two weeks later for February 15, 2024. Three-and-a-half hours prior to the appointment Ms. Smith called me personally and said the roads were too bad and she wasn't going to drive into the office for meetings. Google the weather in Novi, MI on 2/15/24. We had 1/2 an inch of snow which ended before 1pm. Roads were perfectly clear. She offered a virtual appointment instead to which I reluctantly agreed to. But I stated I had no idea how to initiate one. She read me my email address and said she'd send a link. An hour and a half prior to the meeting, I still never received a link. At this point, my daughter stated she no longer felt comfortable seeing Ms. Smith as she didn't seem concerned at all with my daughter's emotional health. So I called Ms. Smith back, told her we never received the virtual care link and, given the situation, we were no longer felt comfortable seeing her. Ms. Smith simply said "I understand. Goodbye." And that was the end of the call. She didn't hang up on me...I'm not trying to imply that. But once I told her how frustrated my daughter felt given these two last minute cancellations she just didn't feel like Ms. Smith truly cared about helping her. That's when she said. "I understand. Goodbye." FYI - it's important to note that this practice requires 48 hours notice to cancel/reschedule an appointment or you're charged for no showing. But Ms. Smith has no problem canceling the day of, multiple times in a row. Seems pretty hypocritical to expect your patients to have consideration for the doctor's time but they have no consideration for the patient's."
