"This is the worst place to get therapy from. From the get go I was given a therapist and she quit after a few months. I was given another therapist Brad Fox and you all need to stay away from him. He thinks you can apply dbt skills to every situation in life and take everything for literally what it is. Don't actually read into the situations in front of you. He ruined my life and has ruined my mental health even more. I asked for a new therapist only to get denied that and forced to work with someone I did not want to. On top of that the facility had me fill out an automatic payment form three times. They would never automatically charge me and I had to stay on top of them and if I didn't I would get billed for hundreds of dollars that would show up in my mail. Then when my insurance changed they started to bill me off of network because of the failure of them knowing how to bill my insurance properly when they said they took my insurance and then would expect me to pay the difference for their mistakes. Find somewhere else and stay away from here before they ruin your life like they did mine."

"The provider that I saw never placed me into a DBT program and instead I was mislead into continuing talk therapy with her in promises of starting the DBT program, which kept getting delayed somehow. All in all, I was faced with a huge bill and little to no progress made. Avoid this place if you can."

"I got into this place last year and finished my year commitment. I can't say good enough things about a full DBT program and how much they helped me here. I am not the same person in the best way thanks to DBT. If you're considering trying a program take this as your sign, and DO IT. It will be the best thing you've ever done for your mental health. Just know that you're only going to get out of it what YOU put in to it. Don't come in to this thinking you can be passive and it will fix all your problems. You need to learn the skills, do the work, practice the skills, and show up each week. I promise you that if you do, you're going to see a change in yourself, your mood, and your behavior like you never have with any other type of therapy. My only criticism of the DBT Institute of MI/Novi is that in the last couple of months there therapists kept leaving, both my individual therapists and group therapy leaders. Whatever is happening on the leadership and business side needs to seriously be addressed by the administration and the owner. The people quitting are amazing therapists who have helped me overcome so much in a years time. No person completing a DBT program should have to switch their individual therapists twice during their program because of administrative issues up top. In my last three months of the program 4 therapists I personally interacted and connected with including my individual therapist as well as the SECOND one assigned to me and two of my group leaders actually quit. It isn't the program itself, that is *chefs kiss* perfection. So if you're considering a full DBT program, please take this as your sign to do it. If you OWN DBT Institute of Novi please take this as your sign to fix your administrative issues and retain your therapists, because they're incredible and you're missing out on some of the best and brightest."

"DO NOT RECEIVE TREATMENT HERE Administratively speaking, completely awful and detrimental to the clients health and well-being that they supposably care about. DBT itself is an enriching program that has taught me so much about myself and I’ve learned so many skills that I use daily now. I highly recommend getting into a DBT program but I do not recommend this place for DBT. I signed a contract saying I will commit to 12 months of treatment, abide by the rules, knew their expectations of me as a patient receiving treatment, etc. What I did not know is that half way into the program (6 months) my therapist would quit her job along with another therapist in which both of them ran group therapy meaning that I had lost both my individual AND group therapy. It has now been 4 weeks without receiving any news about an individual therapist. They told me they got me into a group just last week, but that isn’t ideal for me because I need an individual therapist to work out more personal issues (in group, you only go over homework and learn new skills, you do not have the option to talk about personal issues—that is only for your individual therapist to hear) What makes me really frustrated is that the Institute completely disregarded me. It seems like they care about $$$ more than they actually care about the well being of their patients. The level of unprofessionalism is astounding. In the contract it says “No one can fail DBT” but DBT Institute of Michigan has failed me, as well as many others who were in my group. I want to emphasize that it’s the administration that I have issues with, not the actual therapists themselves. If you’re seeking DBT? please do it. It is life changing and it has helped me in many ways, but whatever you do, do not go here. You will waste your time and money, and even worse it can severely affect your mental health in a detrimental way. From going to very intense therapy, meeting twice a week, filling out diary cards every day , practicing and learning new skills, to absolute nothing has caused such severe distress in my life. DO NOT RECEIVE TREATMENT HERE."

"I tried DBT twice. One in mason for 4 months and Novi for 2 months. My first therapist was Kyle. I just didn't find any improvement with him for 4 months. I don't think he had enough experience or knowledge to help me.But I still felt he wants to help so I went for 4 months and then I gave up. Then again 2 years later I went back to Novi office and was assigned to Katie. She sounded she was bored from the first session. I had therapist before and That was the first time I felt I am nothing more than a client to her. I can't go through details but I stopped going to her as well. I don't think DBT is for me. I am not sure why but people who trained to be therapist there are not treating patients as a person. It may be because this place is mainly for BPD patients and they need to have so much boundaries with them. I just wanted a therapist with focus on mindfulness and radical acceptance. I will give one star because I will never ever go there again."
