Noorjahan Indian Cuisine - Royal Oak

"We were 2 families with kids totalling 6 when we went for the buffet here around noon, there was hardly any curry left, so we waited for the refill. The refill was just formality as they just scattered the curry to make it look refill. It was the first sign to leave but we decided to eat as we had been driving for long and were hungry. They didn't refill the bread and the old bread was hard, also we had to remind them every time we needed bread to refill. Food was just okay. When we checked out they added 18% gratuity on the buffet. Had it been dine-in we would have happily paid gratuity but never heard of it on the buffet. Upon questioning why they didn't tell us earlier, the girls said it's the system by default and cannot help. They didn't know we knew their local language where they were telling each other that we were rude. When we asked to call their manager, they called someone then removed the gratuity. Not happy with the food and service. Go there if you are hungry and no other options available, else avoid it. Overall the restaurant is good with ambience and clean washrooms."

"The food here is excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Anika did a great job. We tried four different menu items with our group. The cooks did an excellent job on each different dish. Easy to park. Atmosphere is low key but comfortable. Been there twice with similar results. This is our new favorite restaurant in Royal Oak. We will go back."

"Alright, so on my search for the most flavorful Indian food in metro Detroit, I came across this restaurant in Royal Oak. Atmosphere This restaurant is pretty small and cozy, it seems very nice with large tvs on the wall and the lighting was dim. Sadly when we came the tvs were off and the music was off so it seemed sort of quiet and unremarkable. Service This restaurant had excellent service! The servers were pleasant and attended to every need, keeping the table clean and clear. The appetizers were brought out on time and their plate placement was neat and synchronized. Food The food was pretty lackluster in my opinion. The heat level played it safe which I understand for the are they were in but it was very far under what’s expected for the level we ordered. The flavors seemed undeveloped and the portions were underwhelming at best. All in all I would recommend to try 6.5/10"

"My family and I went to this place Thursday August 17, 2023. they let us bringing wine. The service was fast. The food was great. The place was clean and the staff is very accommodating. We tried some of everything but be careful because its portion big. I loved it. My favorite dish is the chicken mango masala so far. The bath room smelled like sewer to me though. And we had to keep telling them to play music because it kept getting quiet"
