Pet Suite Retreat-Troy

"Such a poor experience! Although the staff was friendly, we were first timers. There were no cameras, as insinuated on the website. They offered to send pictures at drop off at 8 am and did not in an 11 hour period. I was told Maya would swim....she didn't. No one contacted me to mention that she wouldn't be. This was a trial run for a 2 week boarding. When I realized my dog was locked up for 50 minutes every hour, in a kennel outside of what they said was a 10 minute play time every hour, I felt so let down. I paid for daycare assuming she would play all day and not be locked up alone. I could have saved 28.00 and had her at home for free and she would have been more comfortable. It definitely wasn't about the money for us. It was about the experience. The pool looked less than clean, and they didn't deliver on anything they promised on the website. Our dog is very well socialized and was very skittish when they let her out of the kennel at pick up. She is never like that in all of her 8 years, so it left me wondering if something happened. Such a bummer for a place like this. Despite the second offer to send photos when I mentioned it, I still did not receive any. I have no idea what went on there today, although we won't be back. It was hardly a fun time during an 11 hour stay to sit in a loud kennel alone. Part of our reason was for exercise and socialization. There was not ANY indoor play area. Very much a false advertisement! We won't be back. As follow up to this, I've called GIVE timed and still told I would receive photos I never got. I asked for a refund and four days ago was told it would be processed. It wasn't. I called to speak woth the owner at the other location and was told she was in Troy. When I called there, she wasn't in and I was told by Kara there is NO manager on duty. I explained the situation, yet again, and was told Karen would call and that she would let someone know. AGAIN....no one has called or refunded the visit. SO POOR!! It's been 12 days since she stayed. This is such a simple thing....service! You work in a facility with animals. If you don't love them, don't be in business."

"We’ve used this location twice. Both times were last minute and they were able to take our dog. The only thing I didn’t like is that it is not attended at night. Maybe this is the norm for kennels but concerned that if anything happened at night there is no one to help. That being said it is clean and the employees are very friendly."

"I saw another person mention they took their dog from Camp Bowwow and put them in Pet Suite Retreat, I had an almost identical experience. Camp bowwow would cram every size dog in one room and walk away. Watching the cameras while my dog was there, I realized my dog was in danger from all the fights I saw happening and found Pet Suite Retreat that same day. From day 1, I could tell Molly loved the staff and the staff loved her. She was not afraid to go to daycare and she was always happy when I came to pick her up. I love the amount of space the dogs can play in as well, nobody else has quite as much outdoor space to let the dogs run. Awesome staff, awesome prices, big and clean facility that allows the dogs to live their best lives. I am glad I found this place!"
