"Since the new director (2022) this camp has gone downhill severely. It’s a shame because this was a staple in Barry County for generations. Camp has cut corners and put campers at risk by forging documents and faking safety drills. It is only a matter of time until the chickens come to roost. While the camp itself is beautiful, it is poorly run by upper leadership and they struggle to find reliable and responsible staff. Proceed with caution!"
"My grandaughter went to camp algonquin in Barry County Michigan. It was her first time away from home overnight and she was gone for several days. She absolutely loved it! She wanted to stay! She talked about all the activities and how good the food was. She has her group camp photo up on her bedroom wall. She asked could she go again next year! So glad she had such a wonderful time."

"Two of our boys went to weeks 4 and 6 this year. They had an amazing time and were fully exhausted when we picked them up. The staff is well trained, kind and compassionate. My older son was really worried about going but had such a great time he's now interested in being a CIT in two years! During their time there the boys were able to experience so many cool activities: riding horses, going tubing, paddle boarding and canoeing on the lake as well as biking, high ropes, rock wall climbing, zip line and more with some activities depending on the age group. The boys each came back with an awesome group photo and information for next years activities. So grateful to have a safe place for our kids to have an amazing adventure! They can't wait to go back. thanks"
