"When my child came to me with the opportunity to be here. She was happy, she was ready to step into life as a young adult. Since she’s been at the covenant hall I have heard nothing but awful, hurtful, and down right wrong things about this place. 1st thing that upset me was, my daughter Obtained her drivers license at A early age, and purchased herself her 1st car. She insured her car and everything alone. For the staff at the covenant hall to tell her that she is not allowed to have her car there. Why? Because they provide bus passes. My child had never rode A bus A day in her life, but what did she do? She learned how to ride A bus. To get to not 1 but 2 jobs. When the bus didn’t run and she would ask some of the staff “family “ for A ride to work, they would respond that it’s not their responsibility to get them to work. So of course I would find Away to get my baby to and from work. Sometimes she would ride home with A stranger because she couldn’t get A ride. Then they went on to tell her that they won’t provide her with A bus pass unless she pay for it because she has A job. She also has A car that she can’t park on their property! When she 1st got to #covenathall we explained to the staff about the importance of family, and how my child comes from A single parent home, and we work together to support each other. It was all good until our family needed support from my child. We were belittled and talked about. I asked staff member personally if my daughter would be able to have an overnight pass, and she told me “ well if they have A place to stay they wouldn’t be here” but she was working on it. My child was not allowed to wake up with her siblings for Christmas, she was not able to count down the new year like we normally do. She wasn’t able to take her sisters trick or treating with her grandpa something we’ve been doing for the past 17 years. Later to find out that they do overnight passes now. (Shouldn’t the residents have known that) Every time my child come home to visit she is getting these so called concerned calls checking her whereabouts, making sure she is safe, when she is with 1 of the only people who protects her. Then I get A phone call saying that she is cold and locked outside and staff isn’t answering the phone. She called staff from my phone and I also called numerous times on my way to pick her up (that night she stayed with me) Our uncle passed away recently, and my child was told that she would get an overnight pass because we have to go out of town, just to be told they no longer do them. Now I’m not comfortable leaving going out of town without my child because what if she can’t find A ride from work?, what if she get locked out again And can’t contact staff, what if she end up in the hospital because she is sick and they don’t take her serious! I can’t even leave my car with her for the weekend, because it’s not allowed on the property. How are they helping them become independent adults? when they treat them like prisoners. Then they mock her or talk about her to other staff members, or make her feel bad for not feeling comfortable around them. Then when the staff not happy with the residents, they stop talking to them or be rude to them. Instead of being adults, and working things and talking things out. This has been the worst experience ever for myself, so i can’t even imagine what my child is feeling! My list goes on, but I’m going to save all of that for the letter I write to the judge! These are all my concerns, and the things i ask about. I am not A happy parent and if I had the opportunity to give this place 0 stars I would."
