About the Business
Marquette Elementary School, located at 480 Bennett Street in Muskegon, Michigan, is a primary school dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for its students. As we start the 2023-24 school year, our dedicated staff is excited to work with our outstanding students to ensure a year of academic growth and success.
In order to maintain a focused and safe learning environment, the school has implemented a policy regarding the use of personal electronic devices on school property. The School Wellness Program at Marquette Elementary offers health screenings, education, counseling, and other resources through the care of a School Nurse and licensed Behavioral Health Provider. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 231-733-6816.
The School Programs Staff, including Nurse Karen Theus, Behavioral Health Consultant Kierra Jones, Receptionist Alejandra Lopez, and Manager Joy Evans, work together to provide comprehensive care to students. Marquette Elementary is part of the Hackley Community Care School Programs, which aim to increase coordination of medical and behavioral healthcare services for underserved children and youth.
This year, Marquette Elementary has been selected to participate in the Building Healthy Communities Program, emphasizing the importance of promoting health and wellness within the school community. Additionally, the school holds annual Title I Parent Meetings to keep families informed and engaged in their child's education.
With a dedicated leadership team led by Principal Jennifer Halverson and Assistant Principal Lisabeth Smith, Marquette Elementary School is committed to providing a quality education and supportive environment for all students. We are proud to be housed at the historic Nelson School building for the 23-24 school year.
