"I really wanted to l ike this place. It's a cool concept, it's got outside counter walk up pretty close to some bars and stays open late. That part is good. Some of the food is probably good but the last 2 times I went there I got a samosa and another thing, and it tasted like the cooking oil was very old, and the samosa rather burnt. Ended up tossing it."

"I love this, low-key best Indian food in Royal Oak and I’m not even kidding. A small place, a walk up area, you would never believe it, but it truly is the highest quality that you can find in the area. Especially for the price! And they’re over the hookah lounge! "Had been wanting to check out this eatery for awhile and finally got around to it. It was raining outside but im very happy that I did. Out of the many places I have been, I've NEVER had lamb and chicken that was so tender and full of flavor. This servuce was spot on and was great in assisting us with out choices as this was out first time here. We ordered the detroit burger which is good and topped with a sunny side up egg. (If you want it cooked differently you have to ask for it). The NY mixed plate which comes with lamb and chicken over a bed of yellow rice. Last but not least, we had the Lo mein noodles as spicy as it can get because we just jad to try it. After a taste of everything, the questions isnt am I going back, its simply WHEN AM I GOING BACK!!"
"You'd think that a place with such a varied menu of items would be trash, but Detroit Eatery was actually fantastic. It's carry out only, and if you order in person, you'll be standing outside for about 10 minutes or so waiting on food. Portions were huge and everything we tried (about 5 dishes) was great."
