"We used to here after church with my parents when I was a kid years ago. I was amazed to find them still open. Wow, the fish and chips tasted just as good as as I remembered! I LOVED to reminiscing in the familiar surroundings over the best fish and chips in Michigan. Oh! The lemon meringue pie... is to die for!"

"Got a carry out. Staff were friendly and the food was fantastic. Very busy on the weekends, but they have a good routine to get the food prepared in a reasonable amount of time. The only draw back, is the neighborhood surrounding the business."

"In town for business and was looking forward to trying this place out. It did not disappoint! Ordered the clam chowder and the fish and chips. Late Jan time of the year and I appreciated the clam chowder being served piping hot. Not the best clam chowder I’ve had but was good nonetheless. The Scotty’s Famous Fish & Chips however was top tier. You can tell they used good clean oil from the taste of the food. Golden brown crispy coating and inside the fish was cooked perfectly. The fries were cooked the same, crispy with a soft center. The meal was served with a homemade cole slaw and homemade tartar sauce. Would recommend to anyone to give it a try. Just make sure that you bring cash as they don’t take cards. My meal was just under $20 so great value for the quality of food."

"I ordered the fish (Cod) and chips (fries) I asked for the food to be cooked crispy but both were soggy. The flavoring was just ok. The food placed between paper plates as containers one on the top as well as one on the bottom just like you see in the photos. Placed in a carryout bag. I guess they ran out of food containers? I wish the video I shot would have uploaded. The service was cool and I didn't have to wait long for my carry out. The atmosphere looked like there was no upgrades to the decor since they opened in the 50's which I didn't mind."

"Decades ago my family used to come here for lunch after church. The place itself doesn't seem to have changed since then - it's like a time capsule - whereas the Brightmoor neighborhood around it certainly has changed. The fish and chips are great, but the nostalgia is why Scotty's is so wonderful. If you visit (and you should!) be aware that it's cash or checks only; no credit or debit cards accepted."
