"I'm new here at bates, and i'm originally from a charter school system. From my Bates experience I see that this school is truly here for my education. The school community is very professional. I feel I have received more of an education than any of my other schools i have attended. When it comes to the environment of the class/classmates, behaviors are very well managed."

"Reading these reviews got me like o_o Idk what's going on at Bates but when I graduated in 06 (forever ago) it was a great school. We didn't have any fights and minimal suspensions. I felt like I got a top notch education at a public school, and the bond that I felt with my classmates felt like family and still exists today! I was challenged and always motivated to do my very best. Teachers like, Mrs. Wardwell, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Gibson were amazing educators."

"i feel like everytime I turn around ms toliver or ms Dugan Riggs is looking at me to make sure I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing but I don't need that I'm 13 I know how to act. People get suspended everyday, I thought 8th grade year was gone be fun but it's very depressing we get treated like dirt on someone's shoe. If I stand up in the school cafe I can get suspended up to three days. I can't talk to my friends at lunch we have to sit at assigned tables it's just ridiculous and I love bates deep deep deep in my heart but this is just soooooo outrageous and it's stressful."

"They suspend 8th graders this year for nothing. Ms.Riggs especially in particular. She threatens to suspend over everything including standing in lunchroom when finding a seat, yells at you at your locker etc. Ms. Riggs will take the person who starts it side over the person who it was brought to just because of their mother *cough cough*. I myself attend bates as an 8th grader, and I am displeased with how we are treated. I'm not gonna say we're not bad because we can be, but the consequences are over the top. Someone was suspended today for walking out of class which I get, but it was only for 3 days. When they called their mom and she didn't answer they tacked on an extra 2. Ms.Riggs is the assistant principle by the way not even the principle comes around you only see her in the office. Sad right? I don't wanna bash the school I attend but goodness it's out of control."
