"I currently am in the 8th grade attending dsla. This school is not as bad as most reviews say I have been going to this school since 4th grade and it is not that bad I learned alot at this school. Yes the teachers are not the best, yes there is drama, yes the students aren't all nice and friendly but it's that way at every school not just dsla. The lunches are very healthy the staff are strict but only because they care alot about the students. There are lots of teachers that have been there for lots of years like longer than I have been attending dsla. We have programs and classes like journalism and academic games, basketball for boys and girls we also have track and field and have different clubs. This is a magnificent school to send your kids too if u want them to enjoy and have a fun experience!!!"
"I would give this school 0 stars if I could. Its nothing more than a large daycare center. The 3 grade and up are a bunch of juvenile delinquents. Run.....pull your kids out of this school. The building is full of long term substitute teachers because they can't keep staff in the midstst of the chaos. I substituted here in a few different grades and it was hell. The kids restroom had no soap and the water was running at a trickle. The principal is nonexistent and there to collect a check. I will never go back and i suggest no parent send their kid to this school. Im sure your child is getting bullied or they are the bully."
"For the most part the staff here are courteous and professional. What makes the school horrible is the parents. A great number of them are disrespectful and rude. There are frequent altercations between parents and these same parents are dropping off unruly disrespectful and generally angry children. If you want your child to maintain their innocence while receiving and education avoid this school at all cost"
"My kids went last year. The school needs a bit of work but I will say that my son kindergarten teacher was wonderful. He made so much great progress there and I appreciate this school for that. The staff was pretty friendly and very much like a family."
