Located on 5819 West Houghton Lake Drive in Houghton Lake, Michigan, the Back Door Saloon is a beloved hometown bar and restaurant with stunning views of Houghton Lake. Established in the 1930s and recently purchased by Colin and Emily Quiney in June 2015, the bar has undergone renovations to enhance the dining experience. With Jennifer Benson as the manager, the bar prides itself on serving the best Bloody Mary in town and providing a friendly atmosphere for both new visitors and regulars.
The interior of the bar has been updated with a new wood bar top, rustic-themed fixtures, and a garage door that opens up to indoor/outdoor seating. Large windows facing the lake offer panoramic views, while the newly added decks provide a perfect spot to relax with a cocktail and enjoy the scenery. With multiple flat-screen TVs, guests can catch all their favorite sports events, including live games from Houghton Lake High School.
Known for their mouthwatering burgers, sandwiches, salads, and creative appetizers, the Back Door Saloon also offers daily and weekly specials. Their signature Big Bad Wolf Burger was even featured on 9 & 10 News, earning the title of "Northern Michigan's Best Burger". Don't miss out on the chance to conquer this delicious challenge!
