"One of the best fish fry ever...they had me at their Blue Gill and Perch combo! Lightly panko breaded, and the potato pancakes side was excellent. My wife had the shrimp with their homemade chips and said it was very good. The Old Fashioned was good and strong. It is a very small and popular place, so be prepared to wait. They open at 4:00. We got there at 4:10 and had to wait. Also, not conducive for a large group or young children. They do have a nice deck outside where you can wait. We will be back!"

"A line began to form outside around 3:45 PM with several guests waiting for them to open at 4 PM. The fish fry was fantastic. I also had an old fashioned that was spot on. The sides we chose were potato pancakes and potato salad. Our server was friendly and efficient."

"Very busy Tuesday dinner hour for a $2 burger special. Food was good, a little slow coming out due to the crowds. Drinks were "off", but overall a good experience. Waitress is always friendly."

"Down-home atmosphere, great food with extremely generous portions, friendly staff that treats you like family, and great prices for it all. A buddy and I stopped here after a long day of ice fishing, looking for a fish fry. We started off with bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers (all they had to say was bacon wrapped). We were presented with three MASSIVE jalapeno peppers wrapped in meat candy, stuffed with cheeses, and friend to perfection. Then, the main course. Both of us went with the perch and bluegill platter, because Wisconsin Friday fish fry is a tradition. When our food arrived we were blown away! Two enormous platters of food brimming with succulent fish and all the trimmings you could ask for. Amazing potato pancakes that require no applesauce or syrup. Delicious slaw. You name it. I was comatose by the end of my meal, and all of it was so satisfying. If you wanna go where the locals hang out, where friendly faces abound, and where the food will blow your socks off with deliciousness, them you just can't go wrong with The Nutty Squirrel."
