"Closed an account after telling me it would stay open after several rounds of phone calls to mitigate the situation we were assured it would be open. It was closed with x >30,000 in the account. Everyone wants to apologize on the phone but not on paper. when checks bounce to vendors because you said my account would stay open it would be nice for you to take responsibility explicitly. We have emails where you’ve said this inadvertently, and an entire branch apologizing profusely. But wronged customers should receive it explicitly. Disrespectful."

"This is the only bank I have ever dealt with that does not allow ACH transfers to be scheduled from their app. Every time I try it says "I do not have privilege". Extremely confused I did a google search. Sure enough no external transfers allowed in app. You must use the desktop version of the website. Tried that 4 separate times over two days. Crashed each time. The checking account is worthless to me without ACH transfers. I do not have a US Bank in the town I live in. I do not generally use checks or debit cards. Most of my transactions flow through my credit card for added security and purchase protection and then I make an ACH transfer to pay the balance in full each month. I guess I could add a direct deposit to the account, but I have great concerns over constant crashing. I have been with Chase for 16 years now and can't remember a time I had issues with their app or website. I specifically keep Chase as my bank for direct deposit because of how easily and fast they process external transfers (ACH). One last note. I have actually never encountered this problem ever at another financial institution before. Even at a single location credit union that I had a car loan at. I was required to set up an account when taking out the loan. I felt they were about 20 years behind chase on their website, but they made up for it with pleasant customer service always. They also allowed ACH transfers from Chase to pay the car loan. Then after my issues, I began searching other reviews of US Bank. Let's just say they are not impressive. Rant over, not happy, will try and close my account, but I'm sure they will make it way more annoying than it has to be and charge me a fee. I'm just glad I didn't take the time to set up my investments with them like I was planning."

"I have been with US Bank for almost 6yrs. I hate this bank. I’ve tried to get them to help me start building my credit and I get told they can’t help me. But my biggest issue and why I’m changing banks, is I have $2,500 taken from my account, I called us bank immediately when it happened and reported the issue, after weeks of waiting they tell me I was denied my claim and they still made me open a whole new account. I will never bank with them again, if this is how they treat their customers... Oh and every time I call them I get transferred 5x’s before I can get someone who can or is willing to help me.. this is unacceptable ! And if anyone reading this is from the corporate office please feel free to contact me anytime, you guys have my contact information!"

"We have been a US Bank customer for well over 10 years. Checking, Savings , Mortgage, Home Equity, HELOC, etc. We have always had a great experience with them until recently. I wanted to increase my existing HELOC approximately 15%. I was told that I basically needed to reapply, which I did. The experience has been a total nightmare. The local mgr. along with the so called loan officer were very unaccommodating, slow to respond, not very knowledgeable and refused to discuss concerns and questions, which is the complete opposite of what I experienced during my initial application process. After weeks of frustration, I sent an email outlining my concerns and asking for assistance to the local mgr. where my application originated. That was almost 3 weeks ago and I have yet to receive a reply. I would suggest you avoid using US Bank to avoid unnecessary frustration and hassle, especially in the Cincinnati, OH market. In the near future, I will be closing all accounts and ending my relationship with a company that shows no concern or appreciation for existing customers or customer service as a whole."

"US Bank can handle counting money, but do not bother with their brokerage services. None of the local branches have any expertise with brokerage account and will refer you to toll free numbers staffed by people with similar skill sets. I have spent 2 weeks trying to put stock into my account, simple transfer from a holding company. With other brokerages I dropped by an office or faxed a statement and they took care of it, with US Bank brokerage services they tell you to fax documents with critical personal financial data to a number (because it's 1980 somehow and faxes are a thing still) and you will never hear back from them. I called to ask why I had heard nothing and was assured everything was okay only to be called back and given a second fax number and assured that it would work. Faxed second number, called to verify receipt of fax and no one had a clue how to make it happen and lacked any escalation to determine the answer. Told to email docs, emailed them, still nothing changes. I have had to explain this over 10 times now to different low level clerks who are incapable of helping me. None of them have taken ownership and admitted failure and just transferred me to someone who could help, instead they all keep wasting my time. End result, I am moving my brokerage and banking business to somewhere that has a core competency or at least a basic ability to do their job,. See the response below for a great example, if I email yet another person, or call yet another person I will hear back from them in 24-48 hours and THEN they will ask a million questions and have me do ten things I have already done without anything actually happening. Getting someone at USBank to take ownership is impossible."
