"This is a two part review: The owner John is an outstanding individual. You will not find a more personable person in Cleveland that understands the history of the area like him. I moved to the area in 2016, there were only two guys that provided me with the history of the area and he was one of them. I find myself stopping in to just have discussions and to check in on him and his family. The products of Johnnyville are beyond quality!!! The customization of the bats and inscription of my hand written notes blows my mind. The recipients has enjoyed their products tremendously. I've also used his products as auction items that went for premium prices for the charities it was supporting."

"I'm from Minnesota here for vikings bengals game. I plan on going to this store in morning to buy myself something for my birthday. The people complaining about prices need to just go elsewhere then. Wood is not cheap. I own 500 acres back home and understand prices of wood. My uncle is state legend for making anything you want out of wood and its time consuming and expensive for wood. Hate it to hear people slam a person just trying to make a living. Nobody says this guys work is bad only the prices. Dont buy then. I'm going to buy something and I bet I wont need to lower my review"

"An awesome place. John crafts amazing things with a specialty being custom designed and engraved bats. His workshop and shop is amazing, with hundreds of bats and other memorabilia on display and for sale. We will definitely be commissioning a custom designed and engraved bat for our softball player daughter. He will do custom work via virtual contact and contract. Do pop in and have a look, a trip well worth it."

"This was the worst and most unsettling retail experience I've ever had. I talked with the owner about making an item for my dad out of whiskey boxes. We discussed a small shelf OR a lamp made out of one. I gave him five boxes. I felt good about our conversation. When I went to pick up the finished project (which I had to email him about as I hadn't heard a word on his progress), it wasn't entirely what we had spoken about and he charged me $650 for the below shelf. I was stunned - I had provided most of the raw material, the shelf had no back, I could go on and on... When I tried to negotiate price with him, he got very aggressive with me, threatened my brother, who was with me, and told me I didn't know a thing about wood-working. I was actually afraid and felt forced into accepting the product, despite the fact that it wasn't what I asked for and was priced outrageously. I come from a family of small business owners and I try to support local, small businesses. Boy did I get burned..."
