Saia LTL Freight

"Ordered a hot tub cover and they did miss the first estimated delivery date due to some issues on my street, they did call to let me know. When it looked like they'd miss the second date, an employee put it in his personal pickup and dropped it off on his way home from work. I thought this went above and beyond what was expected."

"Saia was contracted by a seller to deliver a go kart we ordered to our PRIVATE residence. After agreeing to deliver the package to our home, Saia got the package to a distribution center 45 minutes from our house. After postponing the delivery, it never came when scheduled. When we called, Saia told us that it was too big for their lift gates to deliver it to us and had to tell us when they spoke with us previously. The General Manager was unwilling to work with us. Customer service had “problems” with their computer and never called back as promised. The regional manager promised me that it would be delivered, but the local distribution center sent it in a truck they had no way to get it off the truck. This was after I had explained I had no way to get it off of a truck. So, with a pick up truck, utility trailer, and a few ratchet straps, I achieved what an international, multi million dollar trucking company couldn’t do with semi trucks and lift gates. So we paid them $250 to have the package brought part of the way and to be delayed on behalf of their poor communication."

"If I could give 0 stars I would. We have left voicemail after voicemail, they failed to deliver on the day we SCHEDULED a delivery for. We called and called on the day of delivery since I took the day off work to receive the package. Then we went IN PERSON to their office to try and just pick up the package and they can't find our custom ordered spa cover?!? Are you KIDDING ME?!? Next call is to my attorney. Unprofessional, unacceptable, lack of communication or customer service."

"One star because zero stars wasn’t an option. Monday’s delivery between noon - 4pm. I get a call at 9:30am “we are here for your delivery”. Great I’m at my office. Call at 11:30 “we are here for your delivery”, uh it’s still not noon but I leave my office early to meet them. (Shipment was damaged due to NO fault of theirs). Delivering the replacement today! “They can beer there between 10am-noon, but you’ll be on the the first so could be earlier.” Perfect. I’ll stay home from the office and be able to go in 10:30 or 11:00... 11:15 I call back, “Uh it will be delivered between noon - 2pm guaranteed”. Well if it’s 2pm I have an appointment at my office but someone will be there. Finally shows up at 3:15! TERRIBLE communication. Terrible service. No apologies for the multiple issues. I would never use or recommend this company for anything."

"Saia had the distinction of being the first freight company to send my company's shipment to the wrong city. Twice. In 24 hours. The only reason I gave this review 2 stars is because the warehouse workers we had contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. The company itself, however, is no longer our main freight company."
