"Good service. They did a good job showing/explaining to us how to use the carpet cleaner we rented. It worked good and got the job done. Ted's Rental has always been my go to when renting equipment. I've never had a negative experience with them in 20+ years I've done business with them."

"My husband called Ted's on Friday, June 12, 2020, and asked about renting a concrete saw. Whoever answered the phone said that if my husband picked up the saw after 3:30, he would only be charged a one day rental fee because they were going to be closed on the following day (Saturday). My husband picked up the saw after 4:00 on Friday and again the man reiterated that the rental fee would only be for one day. On the rental paperwork, the man wrote in the upper corner that it was a 2-day rental, and under the fee section he wrote fees for the day ($50 + $35 for the blade), meaning that the rental was for 2 days at that fee. He told my husband to return the saw first thing Monday morning. So first thing Monday morning, my husband returned the saw. A different man was there. He said it was double the stated fee, plus tax, because my husband had it all weekend. My husband told him that the other man said it would only be a one day fee since they were to be closed on Saturday and he had picked it up late Friday. (Also, if they were closed on Saturday, how in the sam-hill would we have been able to return it anyway? The BBB would have a field day with this.) This man said something to the effect of, it says right here it's a 2-day rental so it's double the fee. I called later and spoke to the man. He stated that no one there would have ever told my husband that the rental fee would have only been for one day. I was unable to make him understand the value of honoring agreements. I was also unable to make him understand that the other man wrote 2-day rental to mean that the stated fee was for the 2-days. So my only recourse is to say here that you should be very, very careful of this place. If you are told that you can have a tool for a certain fee, make sure they write down exactly what they said to try to avoid the old "bait and switch" routine. I would really like to contact the BBB about this, but I will refrain for now. Future comments may invoke my anger enough to make me do it."
