"I do not live here anymore but when I did I loved it. It's beautiful there and the staff was always so nice. If ever anything broke they came asap and took care of it. My grandkids came every weekend to stay, they loved the pool and the pond to feed tthe geese and ducks. From the minute I moved in it felt Luke home."

"Kelly is god sent. She is absolutely amazing, now I didn't get approved but Kelly went above and beyond to assist me. Starting off, many leasing office just don't answer the phone but Kelly answered even though she was getting off in 15 minutes and waited for me so I could tour the apartment. That day I turned in my wait list fee and application. I didn't get approved but Kelly called me and tried to help me. Now I didn't ask her but it's 8am the next day after finding out my application was not approved, and she is calling me because she reached out to some people who has property that would possibly accept me. You don't have very many people like this who are genuine Kelly at Hunters lake is awesome. Wish I was moving in. She makes this place 10x more inviting"

"The only upside to renting from here is being able to have a bigger dog in your apartment. Got charged $400 for carpet. When we moved out, when we had moved in the carpet was already very old and the day we moved and it was soaking wet from “cleaning”. Also, maintenance takes forever to actually fix anything. They will most likely come in and put basically a Band-Aid on any issue. We had mold and water damage under our sink for months, even though we put in multiple maintenance request to fix it. It also took them over two summers to actually fix our AC unit. Otherwise, having the ability to have a big dog is nice and the ladies in the office were always nice and Understanding, and the pool is kept very nice during the summer"

"Here's an honest review of living at hunter's lake for 4 and a 1/2 years after just moving out. Moved here with 2 teenagers because it felt safer than some other places I looked at. Also the grounds seemed very clean and well kept which I appreciated. It's kind of like living in a park there is a ton of green space, and many additional outdoor features including ponds, a walking path, pool, a fenced dog area, basketball court, and a playground.. There is also a indoor laundry facility and small room with gym equipment as well. Additionally the rental office is attached to a nice clubhouse that we used for an event. It's really nice in there and the cost was super cheap since we lived in the allotment. I found that although it's right outside of Chapel Hill the environment felt very safe They have several floor plans I had the largest, a 2 bedroom townhouse. Our unit had a nice outdoor patio that we really enjoyed- most of the units have these patios, although some of the smaller apartments have screened in porches The apartment itself was nice. It is maybe just a little bit dated, but my understanding is that they are also redoing some of them little by little and it was really totally fine The apartment itself was just what I needed for myself and 2 teenagers to be able to live in without being on top of each other. When you enter there's a large living room connected to a dining room that opens to the kitchen. Additionally on the 1st floor there's a really nice storage closet under the stairs that also has room to hang coats and the utility room off the kitchen was big enough for my washer and dryer. Up the stairs on the main hallway there is a full bathroom with a shower tub, and a hall linen closet big enough to store tons of stuff. The small 10 by 10 bedroom was the perfect size for one person and had a decent closet. The larger bedroom was super big, had a full walkin closet, and it's own attached bathroom with a walkin shower. Over the last several years I've had to use maintenance multiple times, they have always responded promptly and they have always been super nice. I never had any issue with any of the maintenance staff, and they always were able to resolve my problem. In 2 instances the routine maintenance staff were not able not able to fix the issue but promptly had an outside contractor come come to resolve the issue. After my kids were grown my plan was to try and get into one of the very nice 1 level 1 bedroom apartments, however unfortunately that did not work out for me as I had to relocate. Otherwise I would have been happy to stay in this allotment as it has been a great experience. Parking can be tight and is sometimes a problem. Especially in the Winter since there aren't assigned spaces you can also end up having small conflicts with your neighbors, but in the end things always worked out for us. They do try to keep a quiet environment especially at night for people, and although at times someone might make a ruckus later at night it was pretty rare, in general we never really had a huge issue with noise. I did have one neighbor who smoked weed, and when they would do so I would have to run around the house closing all of the windows. Additionally if they were smoking a lot in their apartment you could sometimes get an odor in the the hall bathroom, but there's not anything you can do about that these days and it wasn't a huge issue. The only issue with a neighbor I ever had to report to the office was dealt with discretely,- which I appreciated. The rent did go up a little every year, however as costs and property taxes keep going up I think that's a given at most places right now. They are extremely pet friendly, but they also really make an effort to not allow people to leave dog waste all over the place. In general it's kept very clean, and there are little baggies with trash receptacles scattered throughout the allotment for people to use. I found the office staff to be helpful and friendly. I would recommend the allotment to anyone looking for a place in this area."

"I've lived at Hunters Lake for three years. I'm now relocating for another job and one of the things I'm most upset to leave behind is Hunters Lake and their staff. I lived in a one bedroom cottage with my dog and we both loved it. He especially loved having his own backyard (a rarity in apartment living). He also loved visits from his friends, the maintenance guys, who made frequent and prompt visits to accommodate my every need. Some of these included: the replacement of a hot water heater between Christmas and New Years, a gas leak, a clogged drain, removing debri from my gutters, an outlet replacement, and changing my front door lock when my keys got stuck and I was locked out. lol The maintenance guys who came by were so respectful and kind... and I never had to wait more than 24 hours for anything. The office staff is equally amazing. Krista, Kelly and Valiha have always been urgently responsive to any and all questions and concerns I've had. They offer truly unparalleled, exemplary customer service. My only "bad" thing to say about this place is the geese, but you have to remember you do live smack dab in the middle of a gigantic metro parks system. Geese, among other animals, come with the territory. Just watch your speed when they're crossing Howe Ave. :) Clearly, I would recommend Hunters Lake to anyone, without hesitation. I can only hope that my future residence is half of what this place is. Thank you guys for making Hunters Lake feel like home!"
