"Beware. Although my time at Serra Mazda wasn’t completely horrible, i hope to caution anyone who takes their car for Service here. To start: Alexa and Jeremiah both deserve a 5/5 for their great customer service and helping me with this issue. They took the time to make sure this issue is fixed right and I would recommend them both. They are the only reason i am giving serra a 2/5 instead of a 1/5 which may be too generous to start. Serra Mazda replaced the valve cover gasket on my car incorrectly, leading to oil spraying all over the left side of my engine bay. To top it off, a dirty rag was left on the left side of the engine near this issue. Serra Mazda is lucky I cared more about my car than the technician and caught this issue before it potentially caught my car on fire. If that rag happened to fall onto a hot part of the engine and light the spraying oil on fire I could have been seriously hurt and left without a car, while working 500 miles away from home. Jeremiah and Alexa were very caring with the issue, Todd Baldinger was not however. Upon knowing of my issue, he called me and told me my car would be fine to drive in and did not need a tow. He was not happy with wanting to tow my car and I had to force him into it. He asked me to drive my car up. That is like running on a broken leg, just because you can doesn’t mean you should. When confronted with the rag left in the car, he called it an “oversight”, that’s a nice way to put it. It was not possible for me to get around, since this issue occurred while working 500 miles away from home and now i was stranded due to a lack of care. Todd also did not want to put me in a loaner since I am under 21. While I do appreciate Todd for pulling the strings to make this happen, he acted like it was an act of compassion that he didn’t have to do. I would have never need the loaner or tow if my car was fixed properly. This should have been expected as they put me in a bad spot, not an act of compassion. When my car was fixed, which i give props to being done promptly, I was informed that Serra would only meet me half way for my sensor replacement that was also needed. When I talked to Todd on the phone about this issue, he chuckled and mentioned he did not have to give me the loaner and that meeting half way was more than fair due to all the costs he incurred. What todd somehow failed to understand was that he never would have had to give me the loaner and tow if he did this right. I am confused to why he was blaming these costs on me and not his technician who installed the gasket wrong. Personally I feel like only paying $110, instead of $270 for the sensor. And after already paying $460 for the gasket to be installed incorrectly, did not fairly compensate me for the potential damage done to my car by this issue, the lost wages of taking off from work, bending over backwards to alter my work schedule and miss meetings, the uber rides to get around, and most importantly how my life was put into jeopardy with the combination of the rag and spraying oil under the hood. If i had kept driving, who knows what would have happened. Overall, take your time elsewhere. I don’t plan on returning and neither do many i have talked to. Edit(11/25): Changing this review to a 1 star. Informed by another dealer that no brake rotors are not severely rusted like Serra Motors claimed. I knew this was fishy at the time since i replaced them 2 years prior. Don’t come here they will lie."
