"I finally had the mom's (now mine) piano exterior refinished and the action re-done. So the next step was to restore and re-upholster the piano bench with a rich Jacobean pattern. The bench has sentimental meaning. It is an art deco piece c. 1928, made of cast iron. The cast iron was re-glazed. It turned out so beautifully. I have to be honest and say I purchased the material elsewhere, but Fabric Showcase does have a HUGE assortment of samples. I have a picture of what it was (with a blue-ish patter, and old sad-looking base) and the new and improved version and picture of the piano it will be placed with. During this initial visit, they were also honest about their schedule — this is a small family-owned business, and they were booked solid for more than a month. I appreciated that, and left the single chair with them while continuing to use my other three chairs until the schedule cleared ... and they called to indicate they were ready.
