Take 5 Oil Change

"Offer of water is great, loved the fact that there wasn’t high pressure “sales” of all the things my car is supposedly in need of due to its mileage. Not saying it couldn’t use work but let me deal with that, don’t try & force stuff down my throat…which y’all didn’t. Got my oil changed & got me out which is what I was wanting. Great job!"

"The technicians are always friendly and professional. I never doubt that I’m getting quality service. The only downside was the wait time. I remember when the place was called 10 minute oil change, and you could gauge how long the wait time would be by the number of cars. There were always a bunch of guys working. Today there were only 2 workers, and with two cars ahead of me, it took about 25 minutes before mine was started. The two who did show up to work deserve a raise!"

"The staff were super friendly, even gave me a water while I waited. I got an oil change, new wiper blades and a coolant flush. They checked my tire pressure and cleaned my windshield. Very fast and great service. Time is money and sleep for me ,so it was worth it. Make sure you call, they'll send you a 20% off coupon."

"On November 4th, my wife took the car to get the oil changed. It took over an hour, the tech told her he's only been working there for 3 weeks (major red flag), they completed the oil change, and then she drove home. The next day we were getting ready to leave on a family trip, so I pulled out of the garage to start packing it up. That's when I saw the huge puddle of oil on my garage floor. I tried to look for a take 5 near us that was open, but the nearest one to us in Ohio wasn't open until 10, and it was around 8 AM. I couldn't just let the oil continue to leak until my car was empty, so I went to Valvoline in Eastgate, Ohio (this is where we live, we both work in Kentucky). They took a look under the car and found that Take 5 had stripped my oil plug, my skid plate was missing, and my car was steadily dripping oil. It just took a light touch for it to then start leaking at a much faster rate. The manager at the Valvoline said took video of everything, which I included in this review. They ended up using a longer threaded plug to keep the oil from leaking and I had to pay for another oil change. He told me that it was only a temporary fix and that when I need to get my next oil change I may need to replace my oil pan due to the stripped threads. He went on to add note my receipt as well. Since then, I have called Take 5 over and over again, with no luck. I've talked with Liz at the shop, who was very dismissive and callous towards my situation. Based on some of the reviews, this seems to be a common issue with her. I also talked to the shop manager, who said he would get me in touch with the district manager. Since I haven't had any luck with the shop I went to customer service, who sent me to voicemail every time. I have yet to have a call back from anyone. So far the people I have talked to have stated that they more than likely won't help me fix the issues they've caused with my car because I took it into another shop, but I had no choice since there wasn't a shop open near me. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm under the impression that Take 5 is just pushing me off in hopes that I drop this so they don't have to deal with paying for any damages. The next step might have to be to get a lawyer involved so I can recoup the damages to my car. I will gladly change this review if the final outcome of this situation ends better than the state that it's currently in. Edit: it's been a while now since posting and I have not been helped at all. I have submitted emails to their costumer service and will be contacting the BBB and/or lawyers to fix this."

"I literally pulled in at 12:45. And I was out of there by 1 o'clock. It was the most temple stress-free car appointment I've ever had in my life. I'm definitely very happy. And will continue to return as I need oil changes on my vehicle. I love this place and the people that work there are very friendly. It was a very pleasant experience, 5 stars definitely."
