Metropolitan Dry Cleaners

"Called for a price to launder a bedspread, was quoted 12.98,, the actual price was 39.68 (this was a simple item purchased at Sears - nothing fancy (should have just bought a new one, me bad). When I picked it up I paid for it with my debit card. Got home, checked my bank account and I had been charged TWICE for the service. Called Metropolitan and was told *I* had to resolve with my bank, not their problem (in the background I heard employees saying they wished their machine would quit doing this!). Advise watching these people carefully.......they won't be getting any more of my business. Unethical and no customer service."

"This establishment had an opportunity to win my business. I send all of my dress shirts out to be laundered and pressed so I was interested to try Metropolitan Cleaners with a $20 gift certificate I received. I gave them about 2 weeks worth of dress shirts. They came back cleaned and pressed, but at least one of the shirts had the area around the front buttons pressed so poorly that I'm must re-press it myself or take the shirt back to be re-pressed. In 10 years of sending my shirts out to different cleaners, I've never experienced a problem like this. As a matter of fact, other businesses have gone so far as to deliver my shirts to me. Sorry, Metropolitan. You failed to earn my business."

"Absolutely horrible. I got 2 recommendations to go to this place to have my $6,000 wedding dress cleaned. A month after I dropped it off I still didn't get a phone call telling me it was finished so I stopped by the store. A few minutes later they come out and put a siran wrapped bundle on the counter with a "cannot be serviced" sticker on it. It was heartbreaking to see my gorgeous gown literally crumpled up into a ball held together with plastic wrap and tape. I'm so upset and infuriated I wasn't contacted earlier or notified I don't even have words. If you can't service it that's fine, I understand some materials are more difficult. But don't wrap my dress into a ball when you have a hanger and dress bag I provided you and certainly don't let me wait around a month thinking I was going to pick up my gown all finished. Do not trust your clothing with them."

"They ruined my light weight winter coat. and when I called Tom said bring it in we will fix it. The care label in the coat states" Dry Clean Only, Do Not Iron”. The coat has a polyester shell with a suede finish. They ironed my coat and now every seam allowance ,wrinkle in the lining and lining seam shows as a light mark on the outside of the coat. If they are not going to take the time to read the care label before cleaning my garments, I won't be back. In paid $15.00 to have my good coat turned into my yard work coat."

"I usually don't realize I need something dry cleaned until I have to have it, so I was thankful that when I took my pants in and they assured me they could do a 24hr turn around, I was impressed. They do their dry cleaning on-site rather than shipping it out to a central location so they can do a quick turn around like that. No extra cost, too. I'll be back."
