East Fork South Trailhead

"Visited the station for registration renewal. I was greeted kindly and immediately helped with filling the proper forms required by the state. Furthermore, one particular worker and her knowledge of the park was impressive to say the least."

"East Fork has a great trail system, especially on the north side of the park near the campground. If you hit the trail from the south trailhead and take the green trail, be aware that this is the 34 mile perimeter trail that goes around the whole lake. Unless you want to do the whole trail, be prepared to double back. This is the prettier side of the park, with nice hills and water crossings. If you are hiking, be aware that horsemen also use this trail, and in some places you will also cross the mountain bike trail. Remember that hikers and cyclists yield to horses. Leash laws are in effect, not strongly enforced on trail but be sure your dog is reliable off leash. Other users frown on uncontrolled dogs."

"We completed the intermediate backpack trail and spent the night at camp #2. There were a few muddy spots and 5 creek crossings. We had a great time and look forward to revisiting East Fork."

"Took my dogs on a walk. Couldn't tell you a lot about the trail as after about an hour my old girl(she's 12) was getting tired. However for the part we did walk, it's an easy trail and good for dog walking. It very quiet and serene. Had a couple bikes pass us and there's room to get out of their way. Check it out if you get a chance!"

"I enjoyed the easy warm up trail, simple but enough to keep you engaged while you warm up. The blue trail was excellent. Really great flow and a lot of fun. Has some short punchy climbs to fuel extended downhill flow that are very manageable. Some really nice views of the lake and creeks on the blue trail. The tech trail was appropriately challenging and well made although less traveled. There is a very interesting creek crossing on the tech trail as well that was a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed my ride here and will be back next time I'm in the Cincy metro area."
