"It's been my experience that most Doctors are in and out of the exam room pretty quickly. If you don't speak up or ask a question, they are gone before you know it. It's all about the quantity and how many patients they can see a day and the amount of claims to file with the insurance companies. Dr. Bertsch is not like that whatsoever. I saw him today, got a complete exam, went over blood work, talked about an upcoming surgery that I'm nervous about as I just asked him if he could look at what the process was going to be from the surgeon's notes. He stayed in that room with me for over 30 minutes, answering all my questions, providing me information and making sure things were cool. You can tell he is an excellent doctor but also a very genuine person. He's patient, knowledgeable and a good listener. I would highly recommend Dr. Bertsch to anyone as a person of trust and assurance that he would do his best to take care of you. My only complaint is calling the office to get a refill is extremely difficult. The process is inefficient and causes frustration for patients and staff due to the overwhelming amount of times you have to call to get anything other than an appointment done. Otherwise A+"

"I just called about my neck and how I cannot move and would like to schedule an appointment and the woman on the phone said "call back Monday at 9 and see, he's booked through April" ... WOW! She didn't ask who I was or for a number to call if an appointments opens up, she didn't say have you been to the hospital , should I call 911 , let me see what I can do...she didn't say anything with any sort of care or kindness! She acted as if she works the phones as a telemarketer! Sweetheart... YOU work at a doctors office! Although you SHOULD NOT! She didn't even say her name ! I wouldn't say my name either if I spoke to people like that !! She knows she will loose her job . Well I'm sure he knows who answers his phones at what time !!! I work at a DOCTORS OFFICE and that is NOT how we speak to PATIENTS EVER!!!!! I don't even want to call back I want to find a new doctor that's disgusting behavior. IM IN SO MUCH PAIN and this is how your staff treated me."

"Dr. Bertsch has been taking care of my family for the last 2 decades. As a nurse and someone who works with physicians regularly, I can say that hands down he is the most knowledgeable, compassionate and caring doctor I have ever encountered. I wish they were all like him."

"I've been a patient of Dr. Bertsch for a few years. My issue however is not with him, but some of the staff. On (2) occasions a nurse has dropped the ball by not returning a call to me regarding doctor's decision. Today a nurse told me she wasn't the nurse I spoke to the previous day and that Carrie should have called me back. Then when I explained to her I can't get off work to see the doctor she replied, "I don't know what else to tell you." When I said I'd have to figure something out, she said ok, and hung up. No goodbye, nothing. She is rude, unprofessional, and lacks patient management skills! I called back and spoke with someone named Sherry to ask if I can speak directly to the Dr., and said I'd have to go through a nurse and I explanned to her that I didn't want to speak to her again and told her in part they reason . Sherry was kind enough to suggest if I needed care tonight to go to an urgent Care on Mayfield Rd., but the nurse couldn't offer such a suggestion, she was too busy with her lack of compassion to offer anything other than inconsideration. Thank you Sherry for stepping up when a nurse refused to do her job! Linda McGee"
