"Lacked in one on one experience of shopping for shoes. Seemed like I wasn't important to help or walk me through what shoes they had that I needed. The floors were gross and didn't look swept in quite some time along the edges. Most of the shoes I looked at were wide feet."

"I will absolutely never shop at DSW again. I stopped in this evening (7/30) and was making a shoe purchase. The cashier asked me for my phone number and email address, as most retailers do these days. I declined to give out that information as I don't often purchase from this store to begin with. I was not only met with a hostile tone, but was told it was required that customers provide their name, phone number, and email address to make a purchase because DSW "is a warehouse". The answer given made absolutely no sense, as I was not signing up to become a rewards member of this company nor was I concerned about needing to make a return of my purchase. The cashier quite literally refused to sell me merchandise from the store unless I provided her with my personal information. She received information, though not my actual phone number or email. And upon completing the transaction I asked where this so-called requirement was posted. She admitted that it is not posted anywhere, it's just their company policy. After spending time on their website, I can find no verbiage anywhere that states this is required unless a customer is wanting to sign up for their rewards program, or wanting to give that information in the event they need to make a return and do not have a receipt. I would generally never name an employee who showed poor customer service, and I would like to in this case, but ironically the receipt that customers are given is lacking any personal information of the cashier who completes the transaction. I have never in my life experienced such a situation where making a $100 purchase of shoes or any purchase that did not require delivery or verification of identity to retrieve it, would be refused for not providing my personal information. There was no documentation offered as far as terms and conditions, what they would do with the required information in terms of privacy and or selling off of the information and aside from an extremely rude response from an employee, no effort was made to further explain the policy or simply complete the transaction without it. Absolutely shameful, unprofessional and frankly invasive of a company/employee to have such a policy especially over $100 pairs of shoes."

"Nice store with a wide variety and brands of shoes. My husband found a pair he liked and that is never an easy task. The guy at check out was very personable. I added a photo of the shoes but they have been worn before posting this."
