Kyoto Japanese Steak House

"Went during lunch. It was empty, there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. The first thing that was served was a salad that was more like soup. The salad literally floated in 2 inches of watered down salad dressing. Also ordered scallops and filet. The scallops were more like one scallop cut into thin strips. The scallops were burnt a bit and because of the way they were cut and cooked made it made them super rubbery. Not good. First and last time going here. Don't recommend."

"I’ve been here a couple of times and what a blast it always is! The chefs are amazing, hilarious, interactive, friendly—everything you want out of a hibachi show. The servings are plentiful, made correctly order, quickly and deliciously. The drinks are unique, fun and get the job of what an alcoholic drink should do done. Service is always prompt and kind, the restaurant is clean and engaging. Quickly becoming a regular place when I want a fun night out to eat. Thanks Kyoto, for the good times!"

"Checked this out for dinner. We made reservations and upon arriving there was a line with about 8 people in front of us so we never even got the chance to say “hey we made a reservation”! At that point they didn’t even ask people they were just seating anyone that came in. So we felt like making the effort for the reservation was a waste of time. They seated us after about an 18 min wait and we all sat at the table for at least another 15 min before anyone took a drink order. We had our soup and salad and still no drinks. Just as our dinner was getting finish being prepared the drinks did arrive. The staff were hustling so they are just short staffed. So be patient. I had the Filet Mignon Hibachi, it was ok. A lot of food for sure but not much flavor. My husband is a sushi guy so he order sashimi deluxe and the sushi deluxe. The presentation was really great. The fish was ok. Not the best cuts, ie, not the melt in your mouth sushi. But he said it was ok. It could be better but it could also be worse so if you like hibachi and are looking for something to try, I would recommend a try but keep in mind the items I mentioned so you are disappointed right off the bat."

"This is a very good Japanese steakhouse, but giving it a 5-Star rating would be unfair to all the really great Asian restaurants in central Ohio. A 4.5-star rating would be more accurate, but google maps doesn’t accommodate that. The scallops were very good, and the steak was delicious. The salad dressing was a little too watery, but that seems to be common among many JSH’s."
