"Dr Olson was just fine for our family until chronic diseases were at play. It was apparent she was uneducated in type 1 diabetes when she suggested my type 1 diabetic daughter could not take honey for a cold. At another visit I asked about screening my older daughter for type 1 diabetes. She already has her own autoimmune diseases and having a sibling with T1D put her at even more risk. Dr Olson’s response was “I’m not worried about diabetes for her, her BMI is fine!” Type 1 diabetes has NOTHING to do with BMI! For my oldest daughter we told her for over a year she has back and hip pain. She refused any imaging or referrals. I had to go to Minute Clinic in Kroger and ask for an X-ray. She has a bulging disc and sacral malformation that is causing her pain. I am glad I did not let her ignorance stop me from pursuing care for my daughter."
