"Saw Jeff from 2007-2021 (14 years); did not make much progress. Jeff spent about 1/2 the time talking about politics and sports. This did not bother me until I started paying for counseling out of pocket. Jeff was dropped by my insurance because his practice does not meet certain standards. In 14 years, he did not discuss Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) even once I had the audacity to question his scheduling system (no one answers his phone, and I was not able to get scheduled because he was going on vacation). So, he dropped me as a patient while I was in the middle of a struggle. Have not seen him since April 2021. I attempted suicide, consuming over 60 prescription pills in July 2021. Although I had a lot of other issues going on at the time, I hold Jeff to blame, in part, for this. He didn't give me any warning or second chance. I was blindsided. He just dropped me after 14 years over a minor disagreement, leaving me in a very vulnerable position. Fortunately, I was able to get the help I needed for my issues, but not without nearly dying in the process. Now, in Feb 2022, he is still mailing my mom bills trying to collect more money. I see a new counselor now who started with CBT right away. I recommend finding a counselor who stays up to date with science; CBT is actually proven to work. Thankfully, the clinic I go to now has a policy on terminating patients wherein they will at least give you a warning before dumping you. Jeff is lazy. He does not read literature; just makes things up as he goes along and tries to kill time and run out the clock."
