Hyatt Place Columbus/Dublin

"Update/ 10:39 and NOTHING HAS STOPPED AND I WENT TO THE FRONT DESK TO ADDRESS THE NOISE. I work at 5am. This is UNACCEPTABLE. It’s now almost 11pm on a freaking Wednesday!! Not making anyone aware of construction until after booking. It is 10:00 pm and there is literally hammering, slamming, and drilling happening above me. Security guy is extremely nice and actually seems so genuine as a good human. That’s my only positive remark. Give the guy the management role or sell him the hotel please. But this hotel, looks and feels like a 2 star, and the way they’re allowing this to happen, tells me ownership doesn’t have money, and desperately needs booking to continue and endure construction to cover costs. All hotel stayers will be without water for 8 hours. It’s a joke. My company prepaid 481$ for 4 nights. Got here and they claimed it wasn’t paid and REFUSED to give me the room, even though my company could prove the charge on the credit card. Literally had to wait 3 hours for my company to repay, and then dispute the old charge. Because the hotel made an error when changing the check in date by one day because of a missed flight. This is literally THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. And I have stayed at hotels that are actually considered 2.5 stars. This is nothing like a Hyatt owned hotel should be, and proves everything that’s wrong with franchises that have no brand oversight!! DO NOT STAY HERE. I have to be in Columbus next week too, and my company has already made other hotel reservations. I’m not picky about a nights sleep on work trips, but I promise you will be miserable here."

"Don't let the looks of the pictures fool you. This was possibly the worst stay we ever had at what we anticipated to be a decent hotel. First off the lobby floor was ripped up and dirty and dust were everywhere. Mind you it was literally right by where the breakfast was being served which made it more concerning. Then we get to the room which was a room with a co joining door which we were not notified about when booking the room. When we finally laid down to sleep the traffic was so loud outside the window made sleeping next to impossible. Then comes the best part of the stay. We were woken up at 6 am to a call from the front desk that our car had been broken into. When I get to the lobby the hand me a card and says this is how you can get your police report. Like what where are the cop? He proceeded to tell me that this happened at 2:30 am and the cops came and went already. He couldn't give me a good reason other then it was a judgment call to not wake me up in the middle of the night to inform me of the break in which I found very odd they didn't feel like burglary was a good enough reason to wake someone up. Then I hang around to talk to the general manager about the situation and he laughs in my face and tells me "what do you expect you parked your car in down town columbus." well first of all I expect my vehicle to be safe and the security guard you guys having walk the property to actually do his job. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here unless you don't mind all the nonsense we were forced to deal with because the way the workers were talking this isn't an uncommon situation with cars being broken into."

"Stayed on a work trip. Overall it was a pretty standard hotel visit. The bathrooms were a bit dated but I'm lead to believe they are in the process of doing so as there were some plumbing crews there throughout the day and a wing of the hotel was closed. With that said, I hardly even noticed they were there. That's a good thing. The breakfast was great and different every morning. The location was close to the main road and had easy/close access to restaurants and shopping. My biggest complaint was the third party security officers they had. I don't know what the expectations are for them but I'm pretty sure they don't include sitting in the lobby playing on their phones. This isn't a dig on the hotel by any means. It's intended to be informational for hotel management."

"Not the best. Only has an outdoor pool. Some electric outlets don’t work. Broken molding, small bathrooms. Lobby area is nice but cannot bring your own drinks as they sell alcohol (extremely high prices). They make you sign your life away on a stay and play weekend. Oh and don’t like there is used small shampoo, conditioner, and lotion bottles. Would not recommend"

"This is the worse Hyatt Place we have stayed at to date. The hotel is below Hyatt’s standards. This is an older property that requires some updating. The rooms are very dusty and sheets were not charged, this is completely unacceptable. We arrived at 4 am in the morning, we were exhausted from travel and just wanted to relax for a few hours. The front desk Host (upon arrival) was accommodating and immediately provided another room however it was very dusty as well. The bathroom had an older tubs and was not cleaned well. Previous guests hair were present. Needless to say, I had to clean and sanitize thoroughly before usage. In addition, A few hours later, we realized our clothing was accidentally left hanging in the first room’s closet and called the front desk for entrance. They advised they would come up to gain access and give us our clothing and the previous keycards were deactivated. After waiting over 45 minutes without any assistance or phone call advising of the delay, we tried the keycards and opened the room to prevent from being late for the funeral. When the front desk was advised that access was not needed anymore, the attendant seemed well pleased not inquiring at all about how we gained our personal items. We only utilized the room to change clothes for a family member’s funeral. Upon our return, the same treatment was displayed, no acknowledgment as Guests upon entrance, heads were down looking at work and conversing amongst themselves. The male Attendant that checked us in and switched rooms demonstrated good customer service skills and deserves to be recognized however, the female Attendants were completely opposite, they never acknowledged us as guests but guests of a different race were greeted and acknowledged immediately upon entrance or as they walked the hallway. There was definite disparate treatment demonstrated by the morning team that we didn’t experience from the overnight Attendant. It was clear discrimination. I welcome a call from Hyatt’s Corporate Headquarters. This would not be an option going forward."
