"You certainly are NOT in good hands with Allstate Home Insurance. Their agents are quick to sell you "blanket policies" that are peppered with loophole-clauses containing vague wording and interpretive definitions that will be utilized in a dedicated effort to avoid paying out as little restitution (if any) as possible in the event you do file a claim. Your personal agent will not do their due diligence when structuring a policy with the correct coverage to meet your needs in the event of a catastrophe. Allstate claims department is barely responsive, let alone active in addressing your issue. They lack any sense of compassion or empathy when asking you to describe what happened and constantly interject potential reasons (as if mentally preparing you) as to why your claim "may not" be covered. They will drag their feet throughout the entire process leaving you in uninformed and confused while disregarding your questions and concerns along the way. If by some miracle Allstate is not able to deny your claim based on the parameters of their policy, they will begin looking for any and all other possible parties (cities, townships, counties, HOA's, other insurers etc.) to place responsibility on and attempt to redirect you. Be advised however that Allstate will in no way assist or support you in this direction and will use the time to delay and remove themselves from further involvement on their part. I remain an Allstate customer for the soul purpose of access to documentation for providing legal experts with to properly prepare and file a lawsuit on my behalf. My home has sustained 2 major "sudden & accidental" events that have rendered it non-functional and barely livable at times. I was forced to borrow money and take out loans to fix the damage caused by these events while Allstate continues to deny 1 claim and stonewall me on the other. All the while continuing to withdraw money from my mortgage lender for a policy they say is not even applicable to my property... This has taken an extreme mental toll on both me and my family and lead to more financial burdens and stress. I cannot warn people enough against this unethical, heartless insurance company."
